This little place is a very nice little sushi. The fish was fresh and the variety excellent. The only downside was that we were 6 people and asked them to just bring us a variety of sushi, as nobody felt like ordering and none of us are picky. They just couldn't manage it. However they were very friendly and the food was good.

Very reliable, fresh food. Sushi and sashimi is limited but fresh and very good. Rolls excellent. Love the eel. Friendly service. Appetizers like marinated muchrooms or green beans with sesame sauce very good. I'm never disappointed here. While there are lots of Japanese restaurants in the East Village, we find ourselves going back here time and again.

I've been all over town and this little spot is definitely the best sushi I've had. The rolls are amazing - try the Golden Holden or the Rocco. Great bang for your buck and the service is always spot-on. When you want to get your sushi on, give Ginger a try.

I have been to Ginger serveral times over the last few months and it has yet to fail to impress me. The special rolls are very special with some melting in your mouth. The staff are extemely nice and accomadate any change to the order. Overall the best Suchi I have been to in NYC and will continue to be a customer.

I found the rolls to actually be too big here. The balance between rice, fish, and sauce just wasn't right. Also, the fish was a little tough. After reading all the reviews I felt like I should expect decadent rolls that melt in your mouth, but I found the quality not to be that high. Finally, whatever you do, do not order the beef rolls. I don't want to discredit this review by saying I ordered the beef rolls -- I didn't -- but a person at my table did and they were not good. Positives here are value, decent service, and a nice quaint little place.

my boyfriend and i (both avid connoisseurs of sushi) discovered this place by chance last year and have yet to go elsewhere in new york when sushi's our perogative. the owner and staff are extremely personable and attentive, greeting us warmly by name each visit. the rolls range from traditional to exotic, with a wide variety of exciting, unusual and delicious new flavor combinations to spice up a sushi lover's palate. it is small, but not suffocating, a very cozy environment for a date or dinner with friends. highly recommended, ginger cannot be beat! (try the white tuna sashimi, it practically melts in your mouth. amazing!)
