Just like being home!
I got to know this restaurant because our union had them catered events for us, I just wished I lived in Brooklyn, so that I could go more often... The owner Lyra and her family are all wonderful, hard working people... Thanks for your excelent food and service...always with a smile!

Oh please...
Who wrote that first review ... the owner... The service is the slowest.... The food is usually cooked days ahead and they have to warm it up, if they even have it all. Not to mention the owner who is also the cook always looks tired. And the portions are so small, for the money she's charging you should give people adult size portions.

Great, Comfortable Dining
This cafe is excellent not only due to its high quality food but you do not find other Caribbean restaurants that serve gourmet cuisine. Usually Caribbean restaurants just have island dishes. At Ginger Root Cafe, the chef who is also the owner, is a culinary school graduate who specializes in gourmet meals. So at this comfy and overly friendly cafe, you have an array of dishes to choose from, besides the staple Caribbean dishes. Every dish is equally tasty. There is honestly not one dish that tastes better than another. Family business, warm and comfortable with a great open kitchen that allows the customers to see their meals being prepared. Everyone needs to try Ginger Root Cafe!!
