Ging

Everyone is super friendly there. Food is good and reasonably priced.

Ging is bar far the best Asian restaurant in the Upper East Side, and arguably one of the best in the city. Their sushi is incredibly fresh and affordable- the special rolls are exotic and delicious! I have also had their Thai Food (Spicy Basil Chicken, Curry) and it has all been wonderful. The portions are huge and the ingredients are always fresh and delicious. The ambience is fun for a dinner with friends or a date (cool atmosphere, good music, etc.) and the staff is very attentive and friendly. If you want delicious Asian food then definitly go to Ging!

I just went here for a friend's birthday party. I lived on the UES for a year and a half and never came across this place. (It must be new.) I will now trek up from Murray Hill to come to this BYO sushi place. The rolls were different and delicious. I enjoyed the tuna trio special roll. Other people in our party got entrees that were said to be delicious as well. Everyone left happy. The BYO aspect made this the best deal around. Plus the atmosphere was modern and the location made it easy to get to major transportation. Might even head back there this weekend!

Just happened to come across this menu in the lobby of my building and deciced to try it. What a good decision that was! The food was awesome. I will be back for sure. The presentation was great, the variety of the menu is great! This is a great addition to the neighborhood. I recommend Ging highly and raise a glass to the owners, chefs and staff!

I recently went to Ging for dinner and was highly impressed. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Unlike other BYOB sushi restaurants in the area, there was no wait for a table and no rush to get us in and out. My friends and I were able to enjoy a leisurely meal without feeling like we were sitting on top of the table next to us and the staff were so friendly. We all ordered the sushi and every peice was delicious, in particular the Spanish roll. There is a $5 corkage fee which was well worth it, and everything else was fairly priced. They also have a bar should you wish to just order drinks from there. Overall a great vibe and delicious meal. Quit poking around and get over to Ging.

I live in the neighborhood and have been to Ging twice now, once with my kids and once for a quiet dinner with my husband. On both visits the maitre d' and wait-staff were extremely attentive and our food was consistently excellent. the generous portions of sushi and sashimi were very fresh and beautifully presented. My daughter loved the vegetable lo mein, and I had perfectly cooked steamed vegetables with shrimp. The prices are very reasonable. It is great to have a restaurant that works for the whole family as well as for "date night" so close by!

this only opened a few months ago, but quickly became our favorite japanese sushi takeout place. the food is fresh and plentifull, and not too expensive. overall, great value for great sushi.
