Stay away from desserts.
I work near Gigi's and have gotten delivery from them maybe 5 times in the past 2 weeks. I always order the make your own pasta which is great, although they are pretty skimpy on the sauce even when asked for extra. The desserts are not good and nowhere near the amount of money they charge. I've ordered the fruit tart a couple times and it's arrived fine and tastes pretty good. Today the tart looked like it was made two weeks ago, the skimpy slice of mandarin covered in some kind of tiny white spots and the strawberries look like they were freeze dried. The skin is completely shriveled and IF I did take a bite I'm sure it's lacking in any juice. I have also previously ordered the oreo mousse (once) and it was absolutely unappetizing. I am not picky with desserts and will happily eat anything with sugar but this was even outside my limit. If you do decide to eat at Gigi's, definitely stay away from the desserts.

They get it right.
Good food, good coffee, clean, fast. Gigi stands out compared to others of their ilk. Plus, free WiFi doesn't hurt!

mediocre food, aggresive management
I ordered a simple omlette breakfast from Gigi, and they got off the phone quickly without taking my name or address, just my phone # and credit card. When I called them back, they had the wrong person's name on my order. They fixed it, and it took 45 minutes before it was delivered...when I work down the street from their cafe! Upon receiving my order, I was told to pay in cash, that the sales lady was confused by my changing the name and voided my credit card. I called them to fix this, and the manager actually lectured me and told me it was my responsibility to give them all the information. Seems odd, seeing as how asking for a name and delivery address would be the first thing you would ask when someone calls to place an order. We fixed the problem, but overall I was very displeased by how they treated me, and their food was only mediocre. Hardly ate anything, not worth it at all.

Stale Pasteries
Do not eat here! I made that mistake by trying a pastry and it was so stale that I took one bite and spit the rest out! Too bad I was already home, if I was in the store I would have had a word with them for serving $5.00 junk. The service is bad too, with only one person at the register. Place looks good but it's only pearls on a pig.

I'm a regular
love Gigi! Fine dining it is not, but it's the perfect quick-meal for UWSers grabbing a quick bite. It's across the street from the subway, so I grab some dinner here at least once a week on my way home from work. The food is consistently good, and the entire staff is so friendly. A neighborhood stable!

Two words: Free wifi
The food is not amazing, but good, and the coffee is better than starbucks. The real deal for me at this place is the free wifi. Plenty of places to sit, plugs, and free wifi, something that is getting harder and harder to find in this city...
