You will never happen upon this place. You must look for it, but it is well worth it! Great house-made fresh pasta, wonderful house-aged steaks and Italian Classics.Tthe service is terrific. The owner is always on site and you can rest assured your needs will be met and exceeded. Worth the trip well out of your way.

My experience here was slightly disappointing. The food was good, but not great and the portion size was on the small size. If it wasn't so expensive I probably wouldn't mind so much. I am not against spending top dollar on a meal, but I expect the meal to be top notch. The service was not bad but you would expect more in this type of establishment. The restaurant had a nice decor and there was ample spacing between tables so you did not feel cramped. Overall, it was not bad but I expected more.

We were walking in Lower Manhattan last Friday evening when we happened to pass by. The menu looked interesting, so we decided to give it a try. We were impressed all along in every respect. The service was outstanding; our waiter not only went out of his way to explain the dishes, but also did a great job removing all the bones from our whole fish. The food was excellent: I had the salmon, and my wife had the fish special. We shared chocolate cake for dessert. The total cost was perhaps a bit high, but well worth it. Will come again.

I having been working in the downtown area for 20+ years. Mant restaurants have come and gone over the years, with Giardino being one of the great ones. I owned my own Italian restaurant in NJ for a couple of years, so in addition to having high expectations, I know what it takes. The food is excellent, and always consistent. If the ingredients are the in the house, Benny and Nick will glady put a dish together for you, even if not on the menu (I do it all the time). The service, black tie, is classy, crisp, but not intrusive. A very professional team. These guys really know how to treat their customers and make you feel at home. I have had many functions at Giardino, ranging in size from 5 to 150, and all were handled with excellence. Many friends and colleagues are now repeat cutomers. It's a great place to go, even if you want to just have a few drinks at the bar with friends (Giardino's full menu is available at the bar as well), have a quiet dinner, or for larger groups (I highly recommend the private wine cellar room they have downstairs, which can seat around 20). Yes, there are many restaurants in the downtown area, but Giardino stands tall among them. It will be worth the trip, I gurantee it.

I toil in the Financial District and this is one of my favorite restaurants, particularly when entertaining a group for lunch or dinner. The food is delicious, the wine selection lively, and the service friendly and professional. You'll enjoy your visit to Giardino D'oro.

I absolutely love Giardino D'oro. The food is amazing -- I LOVE everything that I have ever eaten in this restaurant. The food is beautifully presented and it tastes even better than it looks. The restaurant is clean and beautiful inside and the waitstaff is awesome. I take clients to this restaurant all the time and it is always a hit with every single person that I have ever brought there. Today I had the most amazing beet salad as an appetizer that I have ever eaten. I just couldn't get enough of it and their sauce is superb!!! The restuarant also has elbow room between the tables -- which in NYC can be tough to find. It's awesome when you're not on top of the guest table next to you and when you can actually hear the people at your table talking. AWESOME!!! Run there....don't walk!

I recently had my son's birthday dinner at Giordano d'Oro and it couldn't have turned out better. The staff treated us like royalty, food was excellent and even though we had 3 young energetic boys with us (ages 3 and 2) everything turned out fantastic and the staff was so great to them. It's our neighborhood place and will stay that way for a long long time. Thanks Benny and all the staff for a wonderful and memorable time.
