Best experiense at Giando's
We recently had our wedding there. It was absolutely amazing. Its been a few weeks but all the guests are still calling us and saying what an amazing experiense everyone had. The space is absolutely gorgeous. The staff is very helpful, friendly and well trained. Food is well prepared and delicious. Prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is great. Joe the manager that was assisting us with all the preparations is always available and ready to help. We got absolutely everything we were promissed and more. We would deff. recomend this place for any type of event it will be a memorable experiense.. Thank You Giando's !

Beautiful View
Had dinner yesterday with friends in this restaurant and agree with other comments that the view is the main attraction because service is very slow, food is just ok, nothing to brag about.

Giando's--Not Worth the View
Went to Giando's with about 100 people for a work related party. Couldn't believe it!! Subpar food both quality-wise and portion-wise. We paid a lot of money for this party. There were no hors-d'ouvres to accompany the drinks. The main course was buffet style, but the the last person in line had no chance of getting seconds cause the food was taken away so fast. The food was mediocre if anything. The salad was oily, the cake desert was stale, the bar had no diet soda and was limited. One bartender (for 100 people) meant you had stand on line for a drink. Wait staff was unfriendly, unaccomodating and seemed to be untrained in general. When speeches were given, talking and laughter could be heard from the kitchen. It was raining, the valet didn't have the courtesy to pull up to the stairs so we wouldn't get wet, and just said, "Well I guess your gonna have to walk to the car." All in all, I wouldn't have another party there or recommend it to anyone else. I organize a lot of social events and was looking for new venues. I will not add this one to my list. After the sun went down, we all came away with, "This place isn't worth the view."

subpar
30 minute wait even though we had reservations and were on time (not crowded at all by the way). Salad was drenched in oil, literally salad soup. Food was nothing to rave about and overpriced. Not an overly nice waiter and host View of the city is decent but at night the glare from the chandeliers ruins it. Ugly restaurant overall, unless you like the look of tacky reception halls. Ice cream dessert was a frozen lump dumped from a kiddie cup. And to top it all off the waiter tacked on a 20% gratuity on a two person meal.

great place!!!!
i love this place! i went with my fiance for our 5th anniversary. We were told by a taxi driver that has been around the area for about 26 years that this place was one of the peoples favorites. He told us that Giando and pete luger steak house were the two favorite restaurants from all the people he has driven. He told us that they call from mid town and down town manhattan and from all over the place to go to these restaurants. Well we wanted a romantic place and pete luger was too crowded so we opted for Giando...this was an amazing place! the fillet mignon is delicious and so is the mushroom sauce that i ordered with it. the calimari is good also and the sirloin steak that my boyfriend ordered. Everything was cooked to perfection. Medium -well it was juicy, tasty and well cooked. The waiters were very nice and friendly. we went on a wednesday evening and there was more people than i expected for being such a day...we ordered fillet mignon, sirloin steak, calamari, sex on the beach and a martini and every thing came up to only $110 i was totally amazed...it was great!

Amazing Views
Went here recently with my boyfriend on our first trip to NYC. Walked in and started open mouthed at the views! It was beautiful and by the time we had got there it was dark and all the city lights looked amazing over the river. A man was playing a piano and it was lovely. Menu didnt have loads of choice but what it did have was nice. Service quite good and they had a bar area where we waited for our car to pick us up, my boyfriend was very happy as....they were showing the Patriots game! Not a huge obnoxious tv and you couldnt hear it from the restaurant so it did not ruin the mood. Overall the place was rather nice, views are definatly worth crossing the bridge for!

Great view, good food, slowwww service
Took the whole family (wife and three kids, pre-teens). Everyone ordered off the pre-fix menu for simplicity. The food was very good and the view of the sun setting over Manhattan cannot be beaten. Linguine with clam sauce was a winner as were the veal marsala, ceasar salad, and the tiramisu. My only complaint is that the meal took 2 hrs and 15 mins to develop. I know some like a slow meal with lots of space but if you don't it can be frustrating. Really the place is an exceptional restaurant value in a setting that could easily charge much more. It is simply not perfect as a dining experience.
