Love this place, it's my go-to Indian
I stumbled upon this place while walking and gave it a shot. I've come to love Indian and this is probably my fav. place in the city. The space is small and intimate, the food and service are excellent and the location is convenient. Servers are always smiling and happy to describe anything on the menu. The food is mouth watering and I never leave with anything to take home! I highly recommend trying it and if you've never had Indian this is a great place to start.

Great!
I have been going to this wonderful gem in the Village for 6 years now and they never seem to disappoint me. I will recommend this restaurant to anyone for the location, price and taste.

Delicious Food, with on the house extras!!
This restaurant has become a regular for my boyfriend and I. I am vegetarian and he is not, and we both find the food here much better than several other indian restaurants in the city. Our favorites are the malai, kurma, and tikki masala. We usually order an appetizer or two, our entrees, bread, and they bring free papadam while we wait for the appetizers, and then after our meal offer small desserts and half mug of tea on the house. Service can be slow, that being said it is nice to eat somewhere where you can enjoy the food and conversation and not feel rushed. I love this place and go back everytime we are craving indian food!

Decent Foor, rude owner
Had good food, but left I my scarf there. When i phoned them to ask if they had it, I was told they were FAR too busy to check. Gee thanks. With this attitude, the busy factor should sort itself out.

Not good
This place does not deserve such a high rating. The mulligatawny soup was inedible- it tasted and smelled like barbecue sauce. Something in my husband's chicken sag was hard. My chana masala was unremarkable (except that there was far too much chopped, raw ginger in it), but it made me sick to my stomach for the rest of the night. The naan was fine, as was the service, but the food on the whole really was subpar. Will not be going back.

Not worth it!
This place has some problems and double standards. I have ordered from here before as takeout and the food was much better and portions were much larger. When I asked the waiter if this is true, he said yes and walked away! The chicken in the masala was like gum but the lamb in the saag was tasty and tender. He also gave me a hard time about getting a receipt for the dinner I had paid in cash. He said that they don't have receipts. When I insisted he gave me a hand written receipt on a blank piece of paper. I'm sure the IRS would love to see their books.
