amazing ribs!
If there are better ribs in NYC, i certainly havent had them. Their ribs fall off the bone, melt in your mouth, and have zero fat on them. its a small restaurant with as many tables as you can count on one hand but its well worth the wait in the bar across the street if necessary. the sides and soups are great as well. i will go back soon for the fried chicken but it will be hard to resist the ribs again.

Little Bitty, Big City
There are many BBQ joints in the City that claim to have the goods. We have a contender for the Heavy weight title. The vibe is low key, friendly, and down home. We were greeted, seated, and served very quickly they are very welcoming. I had the chicken wings (both ways), then for dinner it was fried chicken and two sides: collard greens and baked beans. it was delicious. Not to mention it's BYOB, there is a beer store close to first avenue on E. Houston. Enjoy.

Must get the RIBS
Fantastic ribs, you must try them. Friendly staff, we even met the chef briefly and got some free lemonade. Great prices, the sides were all delicious. It's BYOB, so that's always big savings. The only ding is that it's kinda small inside (I didn't really mind), so you may prefer delivery or take out.

Stellar
I've been to practically every BBQ place in town and Georgia's is hands down the absolute best! The brisket melts in your mouth, the sides are delicious and the service is great. I brought a friend of mine who was in town from the South ( a true BBQ connoisseur) and they couldn't have raved about this place more. I highly recommend Georgia's to anyone that wants a true taste of the south!

Ribs are great
I have ate at Georgias about 10 times over the past 6 months and it has alway been great. The staff have gotten to know me by name and the food is always good. My favorites are Fried Chicken,Ribs,Grits,Mac n Cheese, and Catfish. I always try and eat something new from the specials every time but stick with these for entrees.

Most bland and grease based tasting Q
I've eaten BBQ from many parts of the US - Santa Maria Style (Calif) - various southern styles, Texas Q etc. Never have I had BBQ that was so bland and un-interesting as this place. The 3/4 rack of pork ribs was lacking in any BBQ flavor - either smoke infused or flame grilling, These ribs were dry rubbed, as expected, but you couldn't tell. as the primary flavor was grease/fat. I always order my Q with sauce on the side - that way I can enjoy the true efforts of the locale's flavoring. Speaking of sauce the sauce here was unimaginative, no zing or special flavor. The sides: cheese grits were lacking any cheesy flavor and undercooked. The string beans were average, Their potato salad was sadly the best item. Shining star to our waitress, who was very efficent and pleasant, even when she had to explain their odd upcharge policy for sides which were "specials" - i.e.an extra $2 for the cheese grits (!?) and $1 for string beans. Frankly I've had better Q.

Coming Back Again Soon!
Finally got a chance to dine here after wanting to for so long. People are soo friendly and amped about their food, it s a really nice cozy atmosphere. Had the ribs with coleslaw and fries and an extra side of bbq sauce. Ribs were moist and juicy and tasted just like the ones I had in Tennessee! Fries were a great accompaniment, crispy and plentiful. Cole slaw was alright. The BF had the catfish dinner special with cheese grits and collard greens. Catfish was very crispy and light. Never had cheese grits before and I don't think I'm a fan, but they tasted ok. The collard greens were cooked perfectly and not overly salted. Wished I had room for dessert, but the ribs had stuffed me to capacity. All in all, the people may not be Southern (they're all very typical NYC Village), the food definitely is. Bonus for dog lovers: Georgia is actually the beautiful dog that has her pictures in the restaurant.
