Genesis

I have never left Genesis unsatisfied with the service at the bar or the tables. I go there for their large selection of draft beers in 20oz pint glasses for five bucks. I wouldn't expect a buyback but have never left without one in my nights out. I live on the upper east side and love to eat out a few times a week. If it weren't for a reasonably priced place like Genesis I would be staying home for sure. The price is right, the food is excellent and the service has always been good. I will continue to enjoy this Irish Pub.

Food is great, no doubt about it! Wait staff is wonderful, The bar staff however, needs to learn their manners. Go there for the food but if you want a genuin Irish pub where buy backs at the bar are common, this isn't the place. The house will rarely buy you a drink, even after a night at the bar.

We got into NY in the middle of the NY City marathon with luggage and no way to get to our hotel! Went into Genesis pub for lunch and were thrilled when the very friendly manager asked if we wanted to leave our luggage at the bar while the marathon was on. This extra service and friendliness is really refreshing. We are in the same business in Fl and like to think we give the the same good service to our customers but very rarely will you receive the same treatment in return. A small gesture from him meant so much to us! Will definitely stop in on our next visit to NY.

Dont get me wrong... for bar food this place is good. However, They rip you of. The pork chops are great but you get two bites! Its 8 bucks, yes i said 8 bucks for motz sticks! and they wont let you pay with a credit card unless its over 20 bucks. Good food.

Just checked this place out a couple of weeks ago and I have to say I was very impressed! The buffalo wings were excellent (crisp and spicy) and the fish and chips were also very good! Not to mention their prices are reasonalbe...I am looking forward to going back :)

It’s taken me a while to write this review. Genesis is the kind of place you love so much you don’t want to share it, but I decided I had to spread the good news. Genesis is the perfect pub for the Yorkville neighborhood. This pub has one of the friendliest staff in the city. The food on the menu includes standard bar snack food, traditional Irish pub fair and creative combinations that are all delicious. Some of my favorites include the baked pear & goat cheese appetizer, sizzling steak, fish & chips and the burgers which are among the best in the city. You can get anything from a typical burger to a Rueben burger, which includes Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and Russian dressing. Now getting back to the staff, you’ll find that the bartenders and managers will be sure to get to know your name and remember it. They always try to greet you with a friendly hello and have sincere interest in how you’re doing. Because of the friendly atmosphere created by the staff, you’ll find yourself meeting the folks sitting next to you and the regulars in the pub. These folks range in age from late 20’s to 70-plus year old patrons. If it was ever possible to recreate the feeling of that old television bar Cheers in Boston, the owner, and his staff sure come close.

Thanks andrew, i'll take your place at the bar...seriously folks, this is one great place with super food, excellent service, and wonderful atmosphere. everyone from the owner to the manager, the waitstaff, the bartenders, chefs and buspersons go out of their way to treat you well. the chef dishes up wonderful creative cuisine and and some of the best burgers in town. try a rebel burger for brunch! also, the traditional menu is top-notch. the service rocks, and every request is met with a smile. go to genesis, and you won't be disappointed!
