I have been to Gene's restaurant twice, the food is great, and nice portions, presentation, etc.
HOWEVER, I completely agree with the other reviews, the matre'd had an attitude and the server was worse.

Food was really great!! Great wine. Ambiance so cozy!! Old fashioned bar. Bar tender friendly and extremely helpful!! Waiter and host could have been warmer. Waiter unfriendly and slightly gruff. Definitely takes away from the entire experience....

I happened to walk past this restaurant several months ago and it caught my eye as being "old world" and have been looking forward to having dinner there.
