Going back today....
After 4 days in NYC we are returning to Gene's for breakfast...we have not been back before as we could not remember where it was but have not come across anything to match it for breakfast so far. Best value food we have had, no frills, just good & honest, great coffee with free refills and only a 1 dollar charge! (would never get that anywhere in the UK), service is rapid and you get good portions. We thought out bill must have been wrong it was such good value! Enjoy!

Superb breakfast and no rip off joint
I was shocked to see how restaurants wanted to rip us britts off but gene's redeemed my faith in the usa. food is good and service even better. lots of coffee top ups at no extra cost, and its probably the best coffee i have ever tasted. its a no-brainer, if you are in manhattan get in there and fill your boots

Good Value, Fast & Friendly Service
This is a reliable place to go for lunch/tea if you are in the area, alone or with company. Service is prompt and friendly. Food comes quickly and always fresh.

Convenient and Good Quality
We eat a quick supper regularly at Gene's before attending the theater at 59 E. 59th St. Turkeyburgers are excellent and reasonable. Salads are fresh and tasty. Wait staff is pleasant and efficient. Altogether a bargain for that area. It was refurbished about a year ago.

Like the Old Days
Worth the visit just to hear them yelling out the orders to the cooks who never turn around to acknowledge the order, but somehow the food shows up quickly and hot. Wait service is outstanding. Very friendly atmosphere. Not a clunker in the place. They raise the bar.
