Not even close to worth the money!

Went there tonight with my wife for dinner and we were more than disappointed. First of all, the prices are absurd for what you get. $2o for a 6-piece sushi roll that was bland and undifferentiated. The portions were small and the food was pretty bland. There was just no WOW factor. I don't mind spending money on a good meal, but this was spending a lot of money and merely unexciting food. The lobster dumplings were luke warm and tasted ok, the halibut had zero taste. The one good thing was the short rib, but the portion was small for $30. Service was fine, atmosphere is great, but we would never go back due to the unexciting food at ridiculous prices.

Good food served with a tude

Took clients there for lunch. Space (upstairs) is small/narrow, but good for party of 4-6. Waitress couldn't crack a smile but its ok, food was good. Vegetable udon delish! Very tasty. Tuna tartare a must. We ordered a second. Lobster wontons in some sort of creamy broth were not as tasty. Overall, it was ok. I'll give it a 6.5 out of 10.

    Poor experience...

Never Returning: It looked and sounded great from the website. Came to eat last week with some friends and the "management" is very unprofessional. Tried to get attention several times to ask for glass of wine, but he never bothered to come by my table. The food was good but management is sub-par. Poor experience

    Ugh

I was so looking forward to this place. It looked and sounded great from the website. For starters we ordered Lollipop shrimp, it was sooo good and came on cane skewers but can you believe they only gave 2 pcs. For Dinner we had the beef ribs and my boyfriend had the duck. I love beef and try it most places, I thought it was okay but the Duck was really good. The customer service was not that great unless you are buying a bottle. The food was good but they really need to give bigger portions, I would not go back.

Great food but wouldn't go again

We arrived at Geisha for a 730 reservation. There were 6 people in our party and they first sat us down at a 5 person table. After we complained and pointed out at the fact that the table was just too small, they moved us to another table with no problem. The food was good. The lolipop shrimp, lobster dumplings were amazing. I can't say the same about the kobe beef however. The main meals were very small portions for the price that we were paying. I had the bass which was good (not great) and about 2x2 size. It was very small. My boyfriend had two rolls - the one with the almonds (the name has skipped my mind) was great!!! The lobster dish was actually very good and the lamp chops as well. However, if you want to pay $40 for 3 lamp chops go ahead. The place is small, wasn't really noisy. The service was good as well. I can't complain. I wouldn't go back there though. I don't mind paying $$$$ for great food but the portions here were ridiculous. We ended up going to another restaurant after because we were still starving. Price/food ratio horrible! The wagyu fried rice is delicious as well!!

    Not worth it

Came to eat last week with some friends, management and staff is horrible, very unprofessional and seemed dazed and confused. Highly recommend English courses for most of them, they misspelled our reservation, made us wait and had no explanation. The food is good, but not worth the trouble!

    Never Returning

There are few New York City restaurants that I would never return to, except this one. I dined at Geisha with two clients last week expecting the usual modernistic ambience and enjoyable fare. The place was packed when we arrived and there was a great vibe to the place. Once we were seated, the waiter served us promptly but was never to be seen or heard from again. Along with that, the restaraunt was incredibly noisy and it was not from a table - it was the staff. They were chatting and laughing so loudly that all the guests looked over at them again and again. I don't know what sort of management would allow for this. This definitely made for an unpleasant meal, and the food left more to be desired. Never returning, sorry.
