i have lived in tribeca for a very long time. when gee whiz first opened i really surpported them by going & ordering the food was great!!! but once pete left (the owner) it went downhill fast. when i sometimes order in (which now a day's is rare) the order is never right, it's cold & takes a long time to come. pete's son's don't seem to care as their father did. so i would not recommend gee whiz what a shame. b/c tribeca needs an everyday restaurant. come on boy's make pete proud & start doing a good job!!!

I ordered a Gee Whiz burger deluxe (medium rare ) to go. It was chock full of mushrooms, 3 crispy and meaty strips of bacon, held together by a melted yellow cheese. I couldn't taste if it was Cheddar or generic American. Well, problem was the burger was expertly prepared . . . but the bread could not hold up to the order. The bottom was soaked thoroughly in fresh juices. It was also of such heft that I couldn't lift it to my mouth. So I tackled it with a rinky dink plastic knife and fork. It wasn't pretty, but it tasted delicious. The beef seemed to be decent quality as it was still pinkish and moist. The fries were great. Not all of them were uniform. Some were extra crispy and thin, while most were sufficiently fried wedges. I ate about 6 because the burger was immensely filling. I will be sure to bring a bigger appetite and request the bun on the side and assemble back at the office.

Wow! What a great place to go for a wonderful, relatively inexpensive meal. And lots to eat, the worst problem was we were so full that we couldn't try the dessert. Our days were so busy that we never got back there. But when we make another trip to NY, I will definitely find Gee Whiz and get some of that beautiful dessert, if we don't get filled up on lunch or dinner!!! Oh, and the wait staff is superb!!! It was a great experience!

Our family dined here last Sunday evening before taking a ride on the Staten Island Ferry . The service was excellent, the waiters accommodating every need. I had the Penne Alla Vodka...it was delicious! Everyone had something different and everyone raved about their meal. I totally recommend this restaurant in Tribeca.

This restaurant is very great! It is a place where you and your family can go and enjoy a saturday night dinner. The service is very outstanding, I have to admit! And so is the food! There is a wide vierity of food to choose from. The place is very clean. The food might be a little pricy but hey, it is Downtown New York right? I really recommend it!

Gee Whiz is a dinner nestled in Tribeca. You will be presented with an array of many items to choose from but the key is all the items are served fresh, to perfection and with a smile. I have dined everywhere in the city and Gee Whiz's servers really cateer to make you experince great! You can tell from you first bite that your meal was prepared with fresh ingidinets. Breakfast is off the chart! Lunch is still good even when delivered, and for dinner go with the Broiled lemon Greek Chicken. Also, try and get served by Louie - He is the best in the business......

Before ever eating at The Gee Whiz Diner, I had heard it's name and some hype about how it was the best Diner in New York. I don't know if I'd neccisarily agree after eating there a few times. It's not bad, but it's not great. The food is pretty good above average, but the selection is really where they thrive with one of the widest selections to chose from I've ever seen. The service is friendly, but all and all it is abit pricey for diner food. Still a good restaurant and probably the best diner I've been to in the downtown area... though that might not be saying to much.
