Gee Whiz Diner

Is the place on the more expensive side for a diner? Yes. That being said, if you can afford to live in TriBeCa, the most expensive area of NYC, you can afford to pay $11 for a full breakfast. If not, you should be eating breakfast at home at not at a diner to begin with. The food is good, as far as diners go; great. It's not a Michelin star restaurant, and it doesn't claim to be. The service is absolutely spectacular, and the premises are cleaner, nicer and more pleasant than pretty much any other diner in the whole city.

Ever since I started living in Tribeca I've been going here. Food is great and the service is very friendly. Best diner I've ever been to.

The food is okay (it's a diner, anyway). But the prices are astromonimcal. Okay, maybe their rent is absurd, but when brunch at Landmarc is a better value, something's wrong. Another real diner in the neighborhood with "diner prices" would make a killing. I'm not quite sure why the place is always packed with people willing to pay these prices. Must be lots of rich people still.

Wow! OK. Remember, this is a review site for places to eat. Everyone's opinion should be respected. I will listen to the reviewers who have been living in the area for many years. My opinion: This place fits into the area and that is the problem.

For all of those who complain about Gee Whiz prices really need to move out of NYC. The diner is busy almost all of the time, the place is very clean the wait staff is fast. How many places in NYC can say that? I am always seeing ratings on Menupages that complain about service, Gee Whiz is the expection here! I have eaten at many diners all over the city, this place is always good, and the portions are huge! If you are one of those that reviews this place and give it a poor score on price, PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE else, we don't want you at Gee Whiz, besides, visit the 1000's of other places in NYC that are supposedly "so much better".

Easy! The prices are crazy, the food is not fresh, bland, not interesting, and, again, prices are insane. I have lived in Tribeca for 22 years and I know no people that will pay the prices.
