Great food if others don't think so
To the posted review of subpar food. Again, if your looking for the ritz, perhaps you should dine there instead of at the Gee Whiz. Don't go and don't complain about one of the most popular, efficent, and friendly places in the Tribeca Area. This place has amazing food at a medium price and their wait staff always wears a smile. Its clean, and always ready to serve. These are nice people who care about what they do, and I have always been treated well by them. Moreover, I agree with the statement "Don't go to diners for anything other than diner food"

I have to agree with the weaker reviews. The food here is second rate diner food at best...

Please
gee whiz is one of the lower end greek diners in downtown manhattan. For those tribecans that live north enough to go to socrates diner.... lucky SOB's! Unfortunately the menu and food here is weak at best, and definitely pricey. I've eaten here over 150 times - b/c i live next door.... what i would give if the food was actually good! Salads are not so good. Stick with the panini sandwiches. The burgers are decent. Breakfast is definitely their best food. I do not recommend coming here for dinner.

Best Diner South of Chambers
Gee Wiz is Awesome! They are quick, friendly, and have so much to choose from it is tough to make up your mind. They also deliver for those of us who are local.

Good Burgers, Nice Eat, Sit, and Chat
10-20-05 - Had lunch w/girl friends. We were all in burger mode. It's good diner food. Good diner service. Good diner atmosphere. Very busy during lunch. Didn't check to see if alcohol is served. If so, I'd go back during non work hours for beer/wine and burgers! BTW: you don't go to diners for anything but "Diner" food!

If you think this is the best lunch
downtown, you need to seriously question your taste in food. I really wish this place was better then it is. It's actually disappointing that they won't redo their menu (going on ten years), and get some new cooks... With no real diner competition in the area, and a large seating area, I guess they can continue to prosper with subpar food.

Friendly Place to Meet
We were so happy to just be able to sit and have a good "girl" visit. This is one of my favorites places to have my friends meet me downtown, and you are never disappointed in what you ordered. No one rushed you. Portoins are large and a very good deal. There is something there for everyone. You can have a burger or a full steak dinner with dessert.
