Food is really wonderful. Had the lamb shank special and it was pretty much the best lamb I've had in the city. Appetizers were really amazing (babaganoush was delicious), and the desert, some sort of yoghurt pudding was unbelievable. Service was very friendly and the chef (Gazala, I think) came out to chat with me. Will return again, without a doubt.

Having grown up in Haifa, and visiting the Daliat El Carmel village for a traditional Saturday meal, I was drawn to this restaurant, but was disappointed to find it very different from my memories. I ordered the Lamb Humos ($17.5) as my main dish and although the Humos was delicious there was very little beef in the dish...hardly any My partner ordered the Kufta Kebab which was ok. I will need bigger portions to return for the price tag

I'll 1st start off by saying that I like the midtown location of this restaurant. Unfortunately, I made the very big mistake of going to their new Upper West Side location within the 1st week of it opening. I can't recall ever having such an all around poor experience at any restaurant.....ever. The waiters were completely unorganized. It took 30 minutes just to take our order. Another 30 minutes for the appetizers to start coming out. When they did, they came out in dribs and drabs.....and we got things we didn't order and didn't get things that we did order. The worst part, though, was that the food was tasteless. It didn't even remotely compare to the tasty food at the midtown location. The homemade pita, which is so very good in midtown, was hard and tasteless here. Otherwise, the chicken kabob entree was so drenched in salt it was essentially inedible. We couldn't wait to get out of there.

Authentic flavors and vibe at this middle eastern joint. Service needs serious help, but I'll be back.
