The food was good and the service was great. I can't wait to go back.

Great lunch
The prix fixe lunch at $20.04 (which can be found at many restaurants) was well worth it. There are four entree choices, one of which was beef tenderloins (filet) with asparagus in a mustard sauce. It was excellent. My husband chose the filet mignon (also one of the choices, but $7 more) which came with garlic mashed potatos. Good choice. Your choice of starters included Fr. onion soup, caesar salad and one other item. We had the NY cheesecake for dessert - it was out of this world. Yes, with drinks ($7 for TAP Michelob Ultra, $7 for white zin) it was a pricey lunch, but well worth it! We've had dinner there once before, and we enjoyed the lunch more.

Yuk
Went here for restaurant week and got the prix fixe meal. The meal was a TINY not that great. Place seems old and a little dirty. Filled with a lot of old men who probably suck down cigars all day. The best part was the dessert, a sorbet. I think this place is past its prime.

Why DID I Spend This Much on a Meal?
Went on a Sunday night after some shopping and decided to stop in. Service was not too bad and fairly quick to respond, although when they realized we were not going to be drinking much, the service slowed down. Food was OK, Lamb Chops were good but for $32, I dont think so. Girlfriend had Filet and to be honest was not tasty. Spent approx $130 after tip and have had better meals at places charging much less.

Aged Meat Meets Aged Furniture
My buddy kept telling me that Gallagher's is an old favorite... but after eating there with me, he's dropping it like the cold potato that we were served. Prime Rib was flavorless and more $$ than the Palm (2 blocks away). The filet mignon looked like a hillbilly special road kill and was stringy and chewy - after being sent back for RARE issues... and it came back WELL PAST medium. Sauteed mushrooms resembled black mini-frisbees and had a burnt quality. Bottom line - very disappointing... and way too pricey for the service, atmosphere, and quality. Palm it.

Good but not one of the best
The atmosphere is very rustic. Wooden tables that needed some repair as they were a bit unstable which was annoying. We arrived at 5:30 PM and although the place was just about empty we were seated at a small table next to a pole in the middle of the room. The service was good but I found the steak preparation choices to be somewhat lacking considering it was a steakhouse.
