It's like one of those old-skool NY diners with big lunch and dinner portions. After your meal, their coffee and dessert is really good, too. Lemon merengue always hits the spot. You'll like it, and more than likely, you'll make it one of your regulars.

Good food, w/ good-sized portions. A good place to go when you're hungry, and not in the mood for anything fancy. Staff is great. Polite and sufficiently attentive. Delivery is well done too. Quick, and well-prepared. Give it a try.

After lots of hits and misses in NYC this week, Galaxy Diner was just what I needed. The diner's manager wasn't the friendliest when I arrived, but the server more than made up for it. My hotel the Marriott Marquis suggested Galaxy when I wanted a late breakfast Wonderful place,service, and food.

we stayed in new york in dec 09 for a week and eat at galaxy every day for breakfast,the lumberjack was fab,loads to eat and keep us going for the day,great servce and value for money.what more could you want from a great dinner/resturant

I just spent a quick weekend in NYC, and lunch at the Galaxy was a highlight of my visit. Went to some pretty nice places besides, but the Galaxy was easily the best bang for the buck. Hit it for lunch, wait staff was quick & freindly. We ordered their cheeseburger special with a glass of Stella, and I have to say that the 1/2 lb cheeseburger was the best I've had in ages, and at just 7 bucks for the burger and beer, was a hell of a deal, especially in Manhattan. I couldn't imagine having to work in a diner in NYC, too many friggen' Yankees with "please feed me like a king and charge me like a serf, and I'm in a hurry!" attitudes for me to deal with. The staff at the Galaxy probably has to put up with mucho BS everyday, but as far as I'm concerned, they do a great job with a smile on their face. I will definately be back.

i'm a hell's kitchen resident and i absolutely love it here. the best thing it's got going for them is speed. even delivery is exceptionally fast. the food is diner quality, what do you expect from a local diner? there menu is enormous, too, and i even have egg whites with veggies, AND whole weat pancakes... so they even have something for the health conscious. thumbs up for me.

My Husband and I came to Galaxy to eat brunch. I was standing in the middle of the restaurant with my 7month old in a car seat and told I could not sit down until my husband came in. At this point there were 5 or 6 open tables, and my husband had dropped me off, and was right behind me parking the car. He had to circle the block to find parking, but was literally 3mins behind me. During this time I asked the manager who was so rude and condesecending, if I could go ahead and sit and order for him because I was in the way of waitstaff and people serving and my son was accidentally bumped from the place being crowded. He told me no, and when I told him my husband was right behind me and I wanted to place all of our orders, he was EXTREMELY RUDE, and actually was sarcastic when I told him my husband would just be a second when he was parking. At this point my husband came in, and the tables were now all gone, and again we would have to wait with me holding our son in a car seat which was heavy, and being stuck in the way. No one was accomodating or helpful. If you have small children or a family that you are taking to eat heredon't go because it is not family friendly, and the manager is extremely rude and not caring or helpful. There are plenty of other places in the area that are friendly and accomodating for familys!!!
