Don't waste your time at any of the other restaurants in K-Town. Go to this one and eat their specialty (sulongtang) and have the kimchee which is by far the best in the city. A definite hole-in-the wall type place with good food.

Placed take out order at around 2:30am for Sul Long Tang (oxtail soup). What wholesome and fortifying food. I'm not Korean, so I cannot comment on how authentic the soup and sides were, but everything was very delicious to me; the soup was piping hot and very very good. The kimchee and the variety of other small sides that apparently come with the order were all very enjoyable, too. The amount of food one gets for $6.95 is unbelievable.

In Koreatown, excepting Cho Dang Gol, the food is generally on such a low standard that Gammiok wins. Gammiok is a decent place to get a Korean meal that is made with a modicum of care and authenticity. I agree with one of the other reviewers that one can get a much superior seul lang tang in Korea or by one's aunt or grandmother. They have the best kim chee in New york, hand's down. They focus on a handful of dishes, and do them respectably.

Became a fan soon after moving to NYC. Their seul-lung-tang and bibimbap are my favorite. Menu is simple and everything tastes great!

First I have to say everybody except for me loves their SULLUNTANG. But I had better ones from my grandma (way better..) and also am a very picky eater (esp when it comes to Korean food) so I really have to say their sullungtang isn't so great. But I do love their sundae..it's real Korean! Be aware tho, if you are not Korean and never had it think before you get it ask what it is too lazy to explain right now :P
