very authentic
Gahm Mi Oak is one of the few places in ktown that have good soondaes. i'm always searching for authentic korean food and i must say their soondaes are decent. The only complaint i have is that my friend and i were seated at a table across the way from the door and every time someone came in we were hit by blast of frigid air. They DO have a non korean menu but i think it would still be hard for someone who doesn't speak or read to figure out what some meat dishes are. but don't let that scare you! Although most people know gahm mi oak for their sulong tang, the sliced meats dishes are the most delicious hidden treats of this restaurant.

above average
i have been to gammiok for 7 years now... the food is getting worse and worse, but it's still a little above average seol long tang. Still a good place to go.

Have Seol Long Tong or you'll be sorry!
One of the heartiest, healthiest, tastiest, most satisfying, best comfort foods is Seol Long Tong. The New York City culinary experience is incomplete without it, and it's just as good as the stuff they're serving at Daniel or Peter Luger. Try to sit in the back near the giant cauldrons where they cook it up. Perfect for a cold night. Don't miss Gahm Mi Oak.

Very good choice
I've tried Gammiok more than 10 times and i've never been dissapointed by the food they had. I've tried a lot of dishes and my favorites are Soon tofu soup and Gamjatang. Most of the time, it's really crowded and you usually have to leave right after you finish eating, but the food is great. As a Korean, this is the best Korean restaurant in NYC I think.

Amazing!
Great service and amazing food! People are so friendly there and they are willing to explain to you what each dish is and how to eat it. They're so considerate and the best thing is that it's open 24hr. It's the perfect place to go late at night especially after drinking.

Why so famous?
Average food- poor service- dry atmosphere- why is this place so famous? Maybe b/c of the surprisingly cheap price, but honestly, the quality goes with the price here.

Good
Quite simply, the best Sulung Tang and Kimchi in town. The simpler the better. Gammiok dosen't aspire to be all, end all. You won't see plethora of sweet, spicy sides dishes filling your table.
