Solid Value...
I, along with a group of 3 friends, have been going to Fu Sushi for well over 2.5 years now, and have never had a bad experience. I have dined there at least 30-40 times over this time period, and have had nearly every roll on the menu, and have had a sushi/sashimi platter on several occasions. The staff is friendly and polite, and every single piece of sushi that we've ever ordered has been fresh. I am not saying that this is the best sushi in NYC, nor am I saying that it is anything like the finer sushi restaurants, but it doesn't try to be. It is what it is, a great little East Village sushi place that provides a great value due to the BYOB aspect. I will always consider Fu Sushi a solid option for a sushi dinner in the East Village.

Great service, but a total rip off.
The food was a little less than fine. The service was amazing. The prices are simply stupid. Go to Shima or Takachi for much MUCH better food and value.

Hiddem Gem
Dined here last week for a friend's birthday and had a really great experience. The birthday girl recently got diagnosed with celiac disease and the staff was really helpful with catering to her dietary needs. They provided her with gluten-free soy sauce as well as made sure the kitchen prepared all of her food with her restrictions in mind. The hostess even told us about a gluten-free bakery right next door! I've eaten here before and loved it (albeit the atmosphere is lacking), but their extra care and attention prompted me to write this review. Service, food, value--they have it all.

Excellent sushi and service
I only have good things to say about Fu Sushi. The owner exemplifies commitment to service excellence and we have always enjoyed the high quality sushi. We usually order delivery and the food comes quickly and in great condition. We're fans, even our 5 year old loves it every time.

Favorite Sushi in the EV
I absolutely love this restaurant. Every time I go there I am treated like gold. Great food, great atmosphere, always an amazing time. The owner, Fu, is hysterical and makes sure that your taken care of. Also, it is BYOB which makes it the perfect place to eat and pre-drink before going out on a Fri/Sat night.

totally medioce sushi
to anyone who left a comment here that says anything remotely like "best sushi in NY", you really don't get out much do you? this was about one level up from airport sushi. definitely stick with the rolls. the age dashi tofu was tasty.

5 stars
The "too-spicy" spicy tuna guy is just silly--don't order a spicy roll if you don't like your food spicy. Like the "Also new fave" reviewer I have never written a review of a restaurant--ever. But fu, you deserve it. I live around the corner from fu and it has become the only place I go to eat sushi anymore. Not too long ago I went in there and sat at the bar. I ordered a salad and two *spicy* rolls. Delicious. They weren't crowded so the chef proceeded to make me two free sushi plates which were among the most incredible sushi creations I have ever eaten--one included flame-toasted avacado and scallop. My tab was $17.oo. 'nuff said. Go there now, before it becomes too popular to get in.
