I am a friend house lover!
I was introduced to friend house by someone who lives on the east side - and thank goodness they will deliver to me on the west side! The food is always hot and fresh when it gets to me - and delivery never takes very long even though they're going across town, compared to other chinese places I've tried. I highly recommend the shrimp with black bean sauce. Even the tried and true wonton soup is unique and delicious! Eating at the actual restaurant is good too - although a small place, the decor is cool and the waiters are super nice. Friend house rocks!

Subpar Pad Thai
Pad Thai is like pizza, it's hard to make bad pizza. But somehow this place does the impossible by making poor pad thai. It was bland and had minimal taste.

Good Chinese, Decent Sushi
I'd stick to ordering Chinese from here, it's pretty good, a cut above the norm. The sushi however is ok, I didn't find the special rolls to be anything out of the ordinary. I will order Chinese from them again though.

Big hit with a first time crowd
Needing an Asian restaurant near Union Square for a group of five, I found Friend House through MenuPages. We ordered a lot of items, and every single one was successful. The service was friendly and near perfect. The value is extraordinary. We'll be back.

Very Good
As others have stated - it's hard to find good Chinese in the E.V. Use to haunt Mee Noodle Shop on 1st (fair to good) but they've closed. Found Friend House and am VERY happy. High quality, fast delivery. Can't comment on decor - never been.

I love friend house
I discovered friend house via this website and i am seriously so glad. This place is awesome. Finding good chinese in the east village shouldn't be so difficult. It seems we either get crappy-white-tile-looks dirty-scummy-restaurants or nuthin. But friend house is reasonably priced, the atmosphere is really nice (especially the little room in the back or the patio), and it's super yummy. I love friend house!

Best Chinese I've had...
since I moved into the city 3 years ago. I've only had the chinese, not the sushi. They have great prices and fast/fresh delivery. I won't eat chinese from anywhere else.
