Fresh Basil's Trattoria

Working in Midtown it's very hard to find a good Italian place that has good Italian food that won't cost you a fortune. I have never had a bad meal at Fresh Basil's. Try the Shrimp Scampi or Penne Arrabiatta (Yum!)

I've been eating at this place for years--usually ordering in. I only chose to respond to refute the below comments on the slow delivery -- I laughed because in my office, the running joke is that they must threaten the delivery guys with beatings or something because it comes so fast. We're 2 avenues away and there have been times when we were debating if it was even physically possible for them to get there as fast as they did. I have literally seen their delivery boys running on the street. Haha I guess everyone has their own experiences...

while we definitely go often for the food (clams and eggplant parma is the favorite but we do try and switch to other things albeit diffficult!), the service here is by far one of the best in NYC. the main "character", Luis, is always happy, ready to do whatever it takes to make your dining experience just that, a wonderful experience, and has made every client who walks in feel like they are in their family or best friend's home and sitting down to a meal made just for them. although the owner has ignored the deterioration of the dining area and a soon to be big problem if one more client trips on the front entrance carpet, Luis makes us all forget after the first few minutes and gets his clients to concentrate on the food and service. definitely a place to eat.

I have eaten here more than once. Quite consistent, which I consider very important. Always good! Nice food, Good service, Elegant atmosphere. Not pricy. What else can you ask for?

This was one of the best deals I've seen - total was $45 including tip for dinner for two people, with wine. And the food was quite good!

I've ordered plenty of times and have never had one complaint about the food...service and delivery leave you with an unpleasant experience, but again the food is great.

I've been ordering out from here for a long time. The running joke in the office is that you have to order your food at least 1 1/2 hours before you'll get it. The food is usually cold when it arrives too. But I'll pop it in the microwave and it's fine. Delivery take way too long, and that often stops me from ordering when I need my food quickly. Otherwise the food is good.
