Fresh Basil's Trattoria

We ordered one pasta dish and three different salads for lunch. Pasta with clams souce was excellent. All 3 salads went to garbage. My chicken caesar salad tasted very plain and the chicken tasted as it was cooked a week ago and spent all that time since then in refrigerator. Will never order a salad from this place again.

Good food, not pretentious, price is reasonable (not counting alcohol). Service was fine. Definitely worth returning to - especially since our office is 2 blocks away.

Had lunch with two others; selected the place based on reviews. I don't get it. except that the prices reflect the poor food presentations. I had a sandwich their sub: 4 inches of hard bread with very little filling and some bland pasta salad. The others had pasta dishes. Penne with vodka sauce and prosciutto–not enough prosciutto to even qualify as a garnish, more of a seasoning. The other, modo mio, purported to be pasta with pink sauce, prosciutto, mushrooms and peas. The sauce looked identical to the first dish. The prosciutto, and mushrooms could only be found after a diligent search. There were enough peas to be visible. The waiter was very attentive, with the service being better than the food. Too bad he spoke very little English, and no Italian. Unfortunately, I speak little Spanish so, communication was difficult. We were there after the lunch rush (presuming there is one). So everything should have been just right.

I have only eaten in the place once but I order home delivery at least once a week. I am never disappointed with the food. The service (except when I ask for two rolls and only receive one) is very good. All in all get value and eats. I tell everyone about this place. In a word, GREAT.

FYI - when you order over $1500 worth of food they offer you wire racks -- however, they don't tell you that they will be back to collect them -- they harrass you for them! Used to order from them a couple of times a year -- NEVER AGIAN - for $1500 they can afford to give you the racks!

Had dinner at Fresh Basil's Trattoria tonight and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the gnocchi... they were the perfect little tender pillows of potatoes that they should be. The vodka sauce was plentiful and delicious. The atmosphere was more fancy than you would expect at a place with many entrees under $10. Would definitely recommend!

I was there for lunch today, the food was wonderful, i had the gorgonzola salad, it was very fresh and had a seafood pasta dish. It was out of this world, It came with friendly service and a waiter who was very good at describing the menu to first timers.
