Francisco's Centro Vasco

Since we learned that one of our places is closing in a few months, we looked for a similar place and tried this one. What a mistake. Food was salty, clams were iffy, shrimp w/rice was rubbery, the service was poor, and the price was ridiculous. They mistakenly charged us for someone else's dessert and took forever to correct it. When we inquired about when we'd get the correct check, the waiter was annoyed and dismissive. We left before dessert not to risk further disappointment. We will definitely not be back.

We went to Francisco's Centro Vasco on Sat night to celebrate our anniversary. I've heard about this place before so I wanted to try. First- this place is way too loud, to the point where we have difficulty hearing each other across the table. Second- it needs some major redecorating. Third- Food...For appetizer, we ordered escargot. As someone had mentioned before, way toooo salty. For main course, I ordered Lobster Meat with no shell in green sauce. Lobster was bland as if overcooked and the green sauce was tasteless. Mu husband ordered pork, it was very dry and didn't have much taste. Overall, very much unsatisfied.

I wanted to try Francisco's for a while and I am disappointed. The escargot was so salty it wasn't enjoyable and the lobster tail was too big and tuff. The butter had no taste to it either. The wait staff were very friendly but would not take the escargot off our bill. I would not recommend this restaurant.

I went w/my girlfriend and another couple the Sat, after T-giving. The food was terrific. We had mussells, oysters, escargo appetizers. For mains, two of us had Paella, my girlfirend had chicken and Lobster dish, and 4th person just had a lobster bisque instead of full entree. The food was really wonderful. In our Paella there was PLENTY of lobster meat. Prob, half a tail, and a nice size claw too. Other reviewers either don't know what they're talking about or maybe the staff doesn't like them. They oysters were a nice size too....maybe like 6 plump ones, for $9.95. The bill was $146 including tip for four people. Around $35/person. As for the decor, and set up. Christ almighty do they need some help. Ugly popcorn walls and ceilings like the '80s, horrific nursing home style carpeting, ugly pictures of palm trees and figurines, and generic wood paneling. Why can't the owners go to Ikea and do a little refurbishing. Look.....in the 80s u get away w/it but the renovation has NOT withstood the test of time. Even if they don't want to overhaul, at least freshen up a little bit.

If you bring a date here & go home alone you are a loser. Period.

I read the reviews and perhaps my expectations were too high. I love paella, so I had the seafood paella and my wife had the special, which was broiled lobster stuffed with crabmeat and swiss cheese. Nothing to see here. I was not blown away or impressed. Spanish fries were soggy. Paella had large pieces of lobster shell, little meat, and the lobster special wasn't worth ordering either. I will not be returning.
