Tasty vegan Korean food, soothing and quiet atmosphere. It's never been crowded when I've gone. The service varies depending on the waiter you get, but most of them are very attentive. The location is a bit dull, however, since I'm used to eating downtown. Not much in the area... Seems like it would be good for lunch for people who work in the area...

I came to this restaurant with the NYC Vegan Meetup group. I didn't have any expectations... I left with a great experience. Great ambiance! Delicious vegan dishes - soup, appetizer, tea, entree, and dessert. I will surely return.

For someone who is used to choosing "one of the two vegetarian dishes" at most NYC restaurants, Franchia was a pleasant change. Great atmosphere, great food, TONS of choices, and moderately priced. I only wish the kitchen was open later so we can catch a great meal after a show or movie.

This palce is lovely - I'd come more often if it was in a more interesting neighborhood. Most of the wait staff is friendly, though at times they were so atttentive it made me a bit uncomfortable. The food is good but a bit on the expensive side for what it is. The presentation, however, is wonderful! I'd love to try the prix fix one of these days when I have a large enough appetite - the deal sounds too good to be true.

I love the middle tier here. Sit down at your table with the tiny candle flickering, and you can't help but relax. The food is good -- not spectacular -- but good and fresh. I loved the ice zitrone and ice plum tea; both tasted intensely of the fruit (the plum seed was sitting in the bottom of the glass). And, unlike its sister restaurant -- Hangawi -- you don't have to worry about wearing thick socks! Defintely a place to put in the rotation.

From the peaceful environment to the attentive yet non-intrusive service to the delicious food, Franchia is a winner on all counts. The vegetarian food is delicious, nutritious and healthy and even a non-vegetarian such as myself did not leave feeling hungry or wanting more. The first time I ordered Franchia, my girlfriend and I ordered a lunchtime delivery and found it so good that we ordered another delivery for dinner that same evening, and we enjoyed every single dish we ordered. I should mention that even the deliveries are tastefully presented. The teas and smoothies are fantastic and I now find myself having trouble walking by without stopping in for one when I walk by. I could not recommend this restaurant more.

The atmosphere is really great. Quiet and calming. They have a great selection of teas and a cute little gift shop area for tea cups and packaged tea leaves. The food is great. The dumplings are amazing and they just have a wonderful selection of appetizers, noodles, sushi rolls, etc. My non-vegetarian friends were impressed, too.
