I love Franchia. Great, fresh foods, interesting tea drinks, and a nice decor. Sometimes the service is slow, except for the last time we went, when there was a lot of improvement. I really like this restaurant and recommend it to vegetarians and carnivores alike!

Delightful decor, delicious and soothing teas, and outstanding veggie fare.

I stopped in today for a quick take-out lunch on my way back to work - I had no idea what to expect, but I ordered the 'lunch box.' The food was great - it was fast - and I can't wait to go back. I am far from ever aspiring to be vegetarian - but I did not miss the meat in this meal. Great textures, delicious sauces - great value as well.

I have eaten here twice, both times with a large party. While some may find the service unsatisfactory, I actually appreciated that they are not all over us, especially as we just needed to linger over some tea and talk with friends. The quiet atmosphere is a stark contrast to the normally loud dining experiences in the city that I will keep this place on my list of restaurants to return to when conversation is key. Food is nothing amazing, but healthful and great value.

I wouldn't go back.

The place is very serene and beautiful. My mother arrived first and sat for 10 min without anyone offering her even water. We thought that wasn't so nice. . . . When I arrived I sat down, then asked where the restroom was, and a waiter pointed. The door was locked so I stood blocking the entry-way to the restaurant for about 5 minutes waiting for someone to come out of the restroom. After a while I returned to my table, and kept my eye on the restroom. (I didn't want the person inside to be embarassed that I was standing there for so long!) For 15 minutes, no one came out. I asked the waiter if the bathroom was working, and he pointed to a key next to the bathroom that I needed to use! I felt so stupid! He should have told me when I was standing there in the way! Then we ordered. I had huge difficulties communicating with the waiter (e.g. when I asked for tea for 2 I got tea for 1 with an extra cup that the waiter didn't know what to do with - I wanted 2 teas, not 2 cups!) And he brought more food than fit on the tiny table, so he had to take some back to the kitchen. The food was excellent, but it was SO awkward and bizarre interacting with the waiters. I guess I would go back, but I would make sure to have minimal contact with the wait staff.

Had dinner with my family last night. The decor and ambiance are very nice and soothing. Food was unexpectedly fantastic. After all, the only vegetarian item in most Korean places is the tea. Steamed Kimchi Dumplings, and crispy mushrooms in sweet and sour sauce were definitely our favorites. Even the desserts: soy cheescake, and cocounut creme sorbet were far better that I had expected. My mother couldn't believe there was no cream in the cheesecake or the sorbet. Definitely a strongly recommended place. The food here is better than most vegetarian places I've been to. Stick to the Rice based dishes if possible. The noodles were just average.
