    My Party was RUINED

My party was ruined! I had reserved a table and while I invited my friends to arrive for 10:30, once I was there, I was told the tables are only set up at 11. Finally, by the time my table was set up - I was placed in one and then had to move b/c the waitress messed up and seated us at the wrong table. We were moved to a table that was 1/2 open - by the bar, where people kept bumping into it. THEN to make matters worse, NYPD came to the bar and closed it for the night, then kicked everyone out. While I was trying to chase down the waitress to get my credit card and ID back, she tried to charge me for the entire bottle, of which 1/4 was actually drank and then somehow disappeared in the mass exodus from the bar. TO TOP IT ALL OFF, my boyfriend who couldn't be there, bought a bottle of champagne and sent the bar a card, to have them give to me once I arrived....all of which never happened. So on top of having to make sure I wasn't charged, I have to make sure my boyfriend is refunded and hopefully somehow get my birthday card back. My birthday was ruined. So unprofessional and no manager in sight to offer an apology. I will never suggest this place to anyone...my night was ruined.

Just what I was looking for

At first I wasnt too excited to hear a bar had opened up across the street but when I checked it out I was more than satisfied. Its more than a bar, it ended up being a very laid back enviornment with great food. The portions were just the right size, not too big and not too small- perfect for sharing a couple. The tuna tartar was so fresh and had a wasabi cream and wasabi cavier (which ive never had before)but was delicious, the sesame salad was very flavorful with a great dressing and my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE was the duck empanadas. Oh wow, soo good (we even ended up getting another order of them bc we were practically licking the sauce on the empty 1st plate after they were gone) They also had a really good [select]ion of beers on tap (which made Greg very excited) So with the great food, good drinks and very reasonable prices I know this will be a place my fiance' and I will frequent. Welcome to the neighborhood, Forum!

    Great food, great time

I haven't been to Forum on the weekends when it supposedly gets more exclusive but it's the perfect weeknight bar for a good time. The staff is extremely friendly, the food is surprisingly good for bar fare (try the empanadas!) and the crowd is generally low key and friendly. Definitely worth checking out at least for an afterwork beer or a low-key weeknight.

    Disappointment

Lots of hype, little delivery. I was excited to try Forum - for food and drinks. This place is way to exclusive (and not a cool way). The crowd was extremely B&T (yet they were turning down attractive people left and right). Not worth it to party or eat. The cool NYC kids are definitely bringing their parties and dinners elsewhere.

don't waste your time after 10pm

decent food...good priced drinks. Good place to go after work. Just get there early, before 10pm, because they close the doors for private parties only. They set some retired thugs outside to turn away paying customers. It's too bad because the bar staff are cool. But there are plenty of 'cool' spots in the city that are better than 'too cool'.

    Awesome

Checked out Forum a few days ago at the reccomendation of a friend. Hung out by the bar and had some great food. The Summer Tuna Rolls were amazingly fresh and the beef sliders were among the best in the city. This is a great place to hang, get a bite or to party. Also has a more sophisticated crowd then your typically Union Square Bar. I'm going back, tonight. Try the bartenders special shot, the blueberry cupcake.

    Amazing

Went to catch some drinks after work, ended staying for some food and being amazed. Very reasonable pricing and quality, had an unbelievable time.
