    Old style charm

After reading reviews, decided to bring my wife for dinner. We had never been, and stopped in Friday at about 9pm. I was a bit skeptical as we were seated immediately, and it was not busy at all. We started with a carafe of the house red, and hot delicious bread came out quickly. I had grilled pork chops and my wife had a chicken dish. Both were prepared well, not heavy at all and plenty of food. The resteraunt has an old charm, and we had a good experience all for about $60.00.

    It's the best

My husband and I accidently happened upon this restaurant while in Chinatown. Ducked in for a drink and ended up spending an hour or so talking to Derek, one of the owners. Went back two nights later specifically to eat dinner. It was awesome. We are going back in April '07 and it is definitely a place on our itinerary. We liked it so much that we will be taking friends there with us this time. Staff was awesome, food was absolutely delicious, atmosphere is truly great. Make it a point to go there and see the place.... very interesting. Definitely worth your time and money!

    Forlini's - what a great place

just what you're looking for - great food, few tourists, the feel of being back in time - I was not looking for a family-style place with lots of children, this was just great - you could tell by conversations, that lots of locals frequent this restaurant - loved it

    Down-home Italian...

...not like the trendy, touristy restaurants along Mulberry. I've been a patron since the early 60s...still the same friendly place (although expanded since then); still great food at a reasonable price.

Best old school Italian in NY

This place is one of the best-kept secrets in NY. I take all of my out of town guests to this place to show off! I can't seem to get past the lasagna, it's what I order every time. Melts in your mouth & great combination of flavors. I have tried a lot of their dishes though, and everything is solid. Gnocchi are also great. The staff are very attentive & friendly as well. Highly recommended. :)

    Italian Resteraunts should take example

The quantity was slightly filling which is a compliment. Old Italian flavors, and superb quality. Very friendly host (I believe he was Little Joe) made the time worth while. One of the best Italian places in Chinatown if there are any others. Highly recommend.

    So so...

Not sure if it was perhaps the particular dish I ordered (eggplant stuffed with cheese with marinara sauce), but I didn't think that the food was anything to rave about. The atmosphere was nice and "family livingroom-like," however they sat us next to a really large private party, which felt a bit awkward. Also, inattentive service- we actually had to get up from our table at the end of our meal to seek out our bill.
