I have been working next door to this place (1400 broadway is connected to the food exchange) for almost 8 months. The service is constantly terrible. I understand there is a lot of traffic in the morning but also a lot of incompetence. The cooks at the grill have the most disgusting attitude and don't listen to your order. Then if you correct them on your order they snarl and look at you mean. The food is of course not top notch but how can you mess up a bacon, egg, and cheese and forget the tomato every time. Furthermore, I used to get breakfast burritos where the eggs were stone cold. As for the oatmeal, it is tasteless and horrible and the fruit sides are left out where people can breath and sneeze over it. The older women at the cash register or horrible. When they ask you if you want a receipt it's for a reason. I didn't take my receipt twice and found out I was double charged the next day. Also, these women have terrible cranky attitudes and are short on change every time! They should not work in an environment this early in the morning if they will have a cranky attitude (I'm sure some kid who's in school part time can do a much better job). If you're looking for a place to eat it, keep it moving. The seating area is right near the door where a draft of cold wind will chill you down with your "already cold" food. The place is loud because of the vent and horrible music that's playing loud over the vent noise.

i work near this place. but i still avoid it at all costs. it has to be pretty cold out for me to eat there. don't get the mixed greens because its always rotten. your safe w/ the romaine. but a gagillion places in manhattan have that make your own salad deal. the sandwhiches & wraps are ew! obviously the quality of premade sandwhiches... kinda stank. but... there breakfast is pretty good. the pastries are good. really you should be able to rate it as a lunch place and as a breakfast place. because they are vastly different. I will say that they are very FAST!! i love efficiency...

It looked good, but we were in a hurry and chose a pre-wrapped ham & cheese sandwich and a Thai chicken wrap. They were OK but the Thai chicken was very bland. Each sandwich was $5.79. We were here at 1:00 on a Thursday and the service was quick. There are only a few tables, but we were able to grab one as someone else left. I had picked this place because I thought it was between Times Square and Bryant Park (now it is actually almost two blocks out of the way) but it was quick and not bad.
