Food over cooked with no flavor
I went to the resturant on Wed. the food was overcooked and did'nt have any flavor I ordered masita frita with a mofongo, we also ordered a breaded steak with rice & beans which was OK let's face it you can't mess up a steak even a breaded one. The food was much much better when they were on broadway. The coconut flan was excellent I would go back just for dessert and cafe con leche.

They are back, yessssssss!
Had been going to the former location for years....I thought they were gone and all of a sudden I saw the sign right off the Henry Hudson South on 125th Street, couldn't believe it so I stopped in and saw the staff from the Broadway location...I am so happy, this place is fantastic, great food and very reasonable.....staff is very friendly, been with the place for years.....great to have them back

So happy they're back!
After a move from their old location down the block and a long renovation period, I'm so happy that Floridita is open again! The incredible soups, stews and daily specials are the way to go. The potaje de garbanzos and caldo gallego are worth it alone. Be sure to ask for tostadas along with any of the soups or stews - a simple thing, but the garlicky buttered toasts take it all to the next level. Floridita has perfect rice and beans. The morir sonando is special, too, as is the cafe con leche. Don't bother with the tamales. One small criticism: the asopao and carne guisada used to be transcendent, but were just good on last tasting. Hopefully, they'll restore these dishes to their former glory. Come early in the day before the specials run out.

The Best Kept Secret!
At first I was a little skeptical when my friend took me to this restaurant. Boy, was I wrong! This place is the best. I try to go there for lunch at least once a week even though I am a distance from it. The food is excellent and the prices totally unbelievable! And I love the wait staff. They are so friendly, yet very professional. I would definitely highly recommend this place!

Selling their old food for take-out.
I used to love Floridita. I ordered many a time and for many family occasions. After not going for a while, a few weeks ago I went on a Tuesday evening for take-out and ordered the steak. It was terrible! The meat was grey and rubbery. The, supposed to be, twiced fried plantains were hard as a rock. They tasted like they fried them once, a week ago, and then just stuck them in a container right out of the fridge when I ordered them. Sad to say I gave them another chance last Thursday and was disappointed again and actually made ill. I ordered the Daily special of Broiled Pork chops to go. After asking me if I wanted broiled pork chops a 3 times the server finally put in my order. I should have suspected something was up when the order was brought out to me in less than 5 minutes. When I opened the dish instead of chops (plural) I got 1 thick chop that was covered with a thick coating of onions, pepper and tomatoes (I guess I was lucky to only get one). When I tasted it, it tasted as if (again) it had been in the back of the fridge for a week after being cooked. It was dry and hard and overly salted. I ordered yellow rice and black bean on the side. The "yellow" rice was a bright unnatural shade of orange and was extremely salty. The beans were grainy and salty. Being hungry I tried to man-up and eat the meal but I could not make it. Even though I did not finish the meal I still had a bit of abdominal distress for a couple of days after. Avoid the take-out.
