I have to totally disagree with Mr.Food! Have been coming to Flo for about a year or so. It is not a bar with beans and rice on the side! Get real, Mr Food! You are paying NY prices. I can tell you that the food is delicious and can get pricey but you will find that anywhere nowadays! Love the music and drinks! Cannot say enough about the staff! They all make you feel at home! Hope they are around for a long time!

The food is not good. That's subjective, I guess. But all the reviews stress what a bargain it is, and that is less subjective. It's essentially a bar, that serves rice and beans as sides, and the entrees, as in two tacos, are in the $15-$18 range. The margaritas are all over $10. This is all finesome restaurants are more expensive than othersbut why is everyone bending over backwards to say what a bargain it is? And, I've eaten there, and for me, the food was not up to par.

I made a reservation for 7 people for my husband's birthday 2 weeks in advance. We arrived, and they wanted to put us at a table that wouldn't be comfortable for 5 people -- let alone with all our winter coats -- practically outside the restaurant. There was another table for 2 next to it that they refused to give us to make us more comfortable. They were rude, argumentative and completely not service oriented. So we walked out, never to return.

There is nothing like this west coast chicano style eatery where the zesty homie margaritas can rip your cheeks into a permanent grin and the mojado tilapia burrito is divine. Also, the family and close friends who own and operate this place are tight and friendly. The staff definitely keeps it real.

This is by far the best chicken fajita in all of NYC. The interior is cozy and festive, and even though tables are lined up next to each other, the lighting is dim so you don't notice how close you are sitting to someone else. The outdoor tables are true NYC sidewalk dining, and I heard they plan to expand the outside dining to include the alley. The service is always friendly, the food is always delicious, and there's a roasted corn on the cob this summer that is incredible. The bar is a little limited (no frozen drinks), but it doesn't even matter because everything else is great. I highly recommend this place.

My BF and I ordered delivery from here last night night for the second, and probably last time. I ordered the shrimp salad with avocado and tomato. The dressing was too greasy, the few shrimp were tiny and overcooked. There was plenty of ripe avocado, but that was really the only good thing about the salad.

You are right Nas, Florencia is no Tex-Mex style..and that is why it's so unique. this restaurant serves up some of the best shrimp tacos northeast of San Diego. The burritos are solid (cheese melted to a right consistency and tasty pinto beans). The salsa is also pretty tasty and not too spicy. The menu is as authentic as it comes when you are searching for Southern California style Mexican food. Plus once you step into the restaurant, you become transported into Chicano culture with oldies in the background. The price is right (think of the area) and so are the margaritas.
