I have to say Thank You to my friend for introducing me to this place! They get it right! Being from California, I have tried endless places that swear they have the best and this one wins it, hands down! The staff is pretty cool, too! This is def my new place!!

The food was just NoT good people. The best thing about this place was the free Homie in my marg. Nice atmosphere. Value? Not really. Go if you will, but don't say I didn't warn you.

Ate at F13 a month ago. Have eaten at several Mexican restraunts in the village, below and above. This one wins, I had zero complaints. Everyone around us was remarking how great the food was. Fun albeit tightly packed atmosphere.

My husband and I hit up Florencia 13 for the first time this past Thursday. We were having an early dinner and were actually the first customers in the place. What a fantastic experience! The bartender/part owner (Lennard I think) conversed with us as he prepared for the night ahead I don't think I've ever encountered such a friendly, down to earth restauranteur in the city, maybe anywhere. We took advantage of the happy hour five dollar house margaritas, which were incredibly delicious (and potent!). The spicy guac appetizer was outrageously good (I was scraping the bowl)...the guac has just the right amount of extra kick. Husband had the Boyle Heights burrito, I got the Santa Monica, both were "wet" style with melted cheese and sauce on top. The burritos were huge, you could definitely cut one in half and take one half home. We both agreed our entrees were delicious and the best Mexican of any type (authentic, Tex Mex, Cali Mex) we've had in a while. The meat fillings were very tendered and well seasoned. The only caution I'd have to give is that the place is very small, so come early or be prepared to wait. Other than that, I have a new favorite place in the city, and I'm sure I will be back very soon! To those who are not happy with the pricing, come on people....it's New York! Can you imagine the rent these people pay? It's going to be reflected in the food pricing. City prices are always going to be a bit more than what you'd pay elsewhere, but if the food is quality, I'm perfectly happy to pay it. Florencia 13 provides great cuisine and an awesome, welcoming ambiance. I'll be recommending it to all my friends.

Having just come back from L.A. on a visit, where I got to know the L.A. version of mexican food, I have to say that Flo seems to have it as close as it can get! I really enjoyed the great food and the drinks. It is a very cool place and the staff was, without a doubt, very attentive!! Will be back soon!

The east LA margarita rocks! The shrimp tacos are fresh and amazing! I will be recommending this place to all my west coast friends. The whole staff had a smile on their face.

I would have to agree with mr. food. The food itself was ok, nothing special, but not bad either. Very over priced. I went for the taco platter as I figured it would be more of a meal, but for something like $16 all I got was two small tacos and a small amount of rice and beans. We also ordered the guacamole app. which ended up being about 5 chips worth of guacamole, for $8. I found the service to be friendly, but slow.
