Flor de Sol

Thank you so much for providing such great service on Sat. Oct 29th apx. 11:30 PM. We were on a very special date and had had a terrible dining experience at another restaurant the night before so this meant a lot to us! The waiter was knowledgeable without being stuffy and never rushed us. The candle light made for the most romantic ambiance. The food and music were was great (especially the Penguin house bottle of red wine). I can't thank you enough for making our evening truly memorable and will tell all my friends about it!

My boyfriend and I had dinner here this past weekend and I must say I was completely impressed. The service was great, the place was romantic and the food was amazing. I cant wait to go back and check it out again. I totally recommend this place to everyone I know!!

The ambiance is very luring at this trendy Tribeca find; however that's about it! This restaurant has pretty inattentive service! I brought some out of town friends there after hearing the rave reviews and it was a disappointment! They did not get our orders right and were barely apologetic about it. It was like pulling teeth just to flag a waiter down to get another drink! I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

From the huge drink menu, we chose a lychee martini and and a "perfect 10". Both were so good. It is hard to choose from all the tapas, but we had a special of shrimp with mushrooms and a chicken in white wine.....the portions were larger than we thought; so 2 were perfect. Main course was the lobster tails and the other was the chicken sausage w/saffron rice. Sorbet for dessert. Everything was very authentic and yum yum yum! There was also a live band which made the mood even better. The service was good and the overall evening made it a place I would return without a doubt.

My work colleagues and I ate here after work one night. I can't stop raving about the place. The food was great, the service exceptional and the Sangria never stopped flowing. I loved the band and the dancer. Really added to the atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this for both a romantic evening out as well as a great group place.

The food is great here and the most of the waiters will make any female's head turn! The atmosphere is what is best about Flor de Sol- also the Sangria is delicious!

I met a friend for tapas and sangria on a Wednesday night. I had been to Flor de sol before with a large group and it was my recommendation to go this time. The atmosphere and sangria were wonderful - I just wish I could say the same about the waiter. He was by far the pushiest waiter I have ever met! He suggested expensive entrees after we explained that we just wanted to share a few tapas. I don't blame him for that - I used to waitress and I understand him wantng the check to be higher. We went with his suggestions and they were actually very good. After we finished our pitcher of Sangria, he suggested that we order another. We told him 2 single glasses, as opposed to an entire pitcher, would be more than enough but he insisted and brought us a pitcher! Ok fine - we were still enjoying ourselves. But after we asked for the check he disappeared! We sat for 45 MINUTES at an empty table while he ignored us! Eventually, I got up and spoke with someone at the bar. What a shame that the service was so poor - that long wait at the end really ruined our experience.
