The food is great and the service (ordering and delivery) prompt and courteous. It's not fancy exactly, but very New York culturally. That said, there's no crossover between Chinese and Peruvian. I prefer the Peruvian side of the Menu - Pollo alla Brasa and the Bacalau Salad are excellent.

Flor is certainly not the gourmet destination people below make it sound like. It is an old-fashioned American-Chinese food place with Peruvian dishes on the menu. The place is decorated accordingly, apparently to match their drab egg foo yung sauce. That said, the food is still very good, especially the Peruvian food. Lunch is a steal and while it's not exactly a place I'd take my Canadian lover, it's a comfortable neighborhood place. Plus the Chinese waiters speak Spanish which I find mind blowing.

i am in love with a man who lives in nyc. he flies me down from canada about once a month, and we always eat at "flor". We have been to all the fancy restaurants in zagat's top 10 list, and know what nyc has to offer. flor is not a fancy dig. but it does have wonderful aquariums. it is a great low-key place to hang out. the staff is extremely friendly... always serves us with a smile, and the food gets to the table fast. our favorites are the ceviche de pescado and the lomo saltado... we like the fried sweet plantains, and on occasion have their signature roasted chicken dish. we like to get their veggie dishes, chinese broccoli, string beans and the like. if you are in the upper west side, and want to find a place for good food, good value, and happy times... you can always count on flor. p.s. we never review restaurants, but we feel we must for flor. enjoy.

This place is HOT. It's always packed and for good reason. The food is delicious. All of the dishes I've tried are very tasty and the portions are big enough for two people to share. The boneless chicken chunks are so tasty and juicy. The Chinese dishes are good as well. This place never disappoints!

I have been a customer for yearrrrsss and I can honestly say I've tried about 3/4's of their menu and not once have I ever been disappointed. I love their Peruvian dishes...took the risk of trying peruvian food one day and what do you know ..AMAZING...very in expensive and great value. If you'd like to get drunk, just try their Nutcraker drink....you'll be saying 'I love you' in no time.
