I've been going to Flor De Mayo ever since I was a little girl when I used to live on the Upper West Side. And now that I live in Queens I still go whenever I get a chance. My grandmother and the owner Felipe used to know each other ever since Peru. Now that she passed away every time I go it also reminds me of her. It's the BEST place on earth the food, the service, the drinks, the enviroment, etc, etc, etc.. LOVE IT

We were very disappointed with the food. I ordered sauteed bean curd and broccoli. They gave me steamed. It had no flavor and wasn't even cooked enough. I could have done way better myself. We also ordered a mixed salad. It came with no dressing but plenty of canned vegetables. I never knew canned vegetables could taste so lame. The tortilla de plantanos was tasty. But it wouldn't make me order from them again. Avoid this place!

My family took me to Flor De Mayo for my birthday 1/11/08. I must say the service in the begining wasn't so great. But one thing is for sure it was well worth the wait. Food was excellent, as well as the drinks. Yes I can definitely see myself here again.

Beef cilantro stew(this is where I got my idea for this dish which I make at home). Beef with noodles and tomatoes with table hot sauce(my favorite dish at this restaurant). Half baked chicken with house fried rice(shrimp and pork) and salad(my girlfriend's favorite dish). Best Beef lo mein you'll ever have(big slices of beef). Food is delicious and the portions are huge.

Wow what a find. Saw this in the insight guide to eating in NY. Managed to get 13 year old son to give it a go, could not keep him away. Fantastic food and atmosphere. Have recommended to all friends going to NYC. The food is wonderful, highly recommend the Peruvian sect. REally good value. Son says it is the best food ever. That was a year ago. So I'll be back in 6 weeks, Padraig

Have eaten in here only once. Very popular due to the delicious food so it can get crowded at certain hours. Prefer delivery which is fast. Food is always hot and the order is always correct. Our favorites: Asopao de Pollo, Masita Frita w/ Plantains, Bistec de Palomilla, Fried Crispy Chicken (boneless), and on, and on. Have ordered only 1 or 2 Chinese dishes which I found to be average tasting only in comparison to their mouth-breaking Spanish food. If you haven't tried this place yet, make it a point. You're going to love it. Menu offers a wide variety and prices are reasonable.

pollo de la brasa is AMAZING. I love to go by just for the chicken. Always down for a pitcher of sangria toooo.
