What Is this?
I have heard so much of this place and everyday i walk by it always packed. the menu is quit simple (generic brooklyn fare) Finally got a chances to go and was very disapointed , they were very dissmissive at the door. food was at best luke warm, food had no real flavor. truffle oil on the fries please, i get set the bar low so you can deliver what your guests expect, but at least deliver on that!

Awesome!
We have been meaning to try this place for dinner for awhile, so glad we did! (btw, the sage egg and cheese for brunch is excellent) The fried oysters with cucumber relish were amazing. The ribeye with tender buttery salsify, parsley and fried shallot salad was delicious, juicy and well-seasoned. The soup of the day, white bean, was very good. Wish we had had room for dessert! We ate there on a Saturday night, and it was pretty crowded by 6:45, so go early unless you don't mind waiting. It is a small place, so it gets crowded quick, especially with people waiting inside on a rainy day. But overall, we can't wait to go back and feel for what we spent, we got a fantastic meal.

This place is amazing, i ordered my burger to go, picked it up, was greeted with a smile and was totally pleased with my food. i ordered a rare burger, most places wouldn't dare serve rare meat, but this place did and it was so juicy and flavorful i almost couldn't believe it. their french fries are cooked to perfection, crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. the service was great, every waiter greeted me with a smile.

Perfect spot
Stopped in five leaves this past weekend after some heavy duty vintage shopping in wburg. So amazing. I had a late brunch (ordered off the in between menu) and was so pleased with everything. It was pretty busy but I was sat by the door. Perfect for people watching along this busy strip in Greenpoint. Not a huge meat eater however, the five leaves burger was definitely a winner. Stacked with pineapple, beet, and a sunny side up egg (which I had to pass on), it was simply yummy. The southern belle cocktail is sheer perfection and not too sweet (sweet tea vodka and sparkling white wine). I also managed to slip dessert in without being too stuffed. I ordered the chocolate torte which was just so so. It was served with whipped mascarpone and sprinkled with sea salt, but the marriage of the two left a lot to be desired. Overall, service was great and I'm glad I walked over to check it out. I've already recommended it to friends and can't wait to go back.

A special treat
Love going to this place even if it can be a little pricy (drinks up your bill, but they're so good!). Love brunch here--I usually get the big breckie because it has everything i want--eggs, hash browns, 2 sides (I usually do tomatoes and kale, nom). coffee is tasty, bloody marys are yum, lemonade is fresh, and the ricotta appetizer is delicious with fig, thyme, fruit-nut bread... it's a great indulgence. I have yet to try the 5 leaves burger since I'm not a big meat-eater but it always looks good. my only complaint is that I wish the baked beans were vegetarian--love baked beans but they come w/ bacon here. sad. it's busy on weekends, yes, but they always find a spot for you and when it's nice out sitting outside is grand.

My Favorite Restaurant
This is my all around favorite restaurant, whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It's my special self-indulgence and I'm always satisfied no matter what I order. Dan the bartender makes the best cocktails in the neighborhood and possibly the whole city. For coffee, they only do espresso drinks and the baristas really know how to make a good drink. I've been here with my family, on dates, with friends, on my own. It never lets me down. Highly, highly, recommend it!

I would eat here everyday
Everything about this place is amazing. The host. The wait staff. The bat staff. I eat here at least 3 times a week since it opened and I have never been disappointed....EVER. Thank you 5 leaves for ruling the planet.
