Not Awful
I go regularly and get the big burger and its not bad. Be sure to order extra lettuce, tomato and pickle because what they normally give you is pathetic (and they don't charge for extras!) Their fries are ok but they are served in styrofoam so until they use paper I will not be ordering their fries again. The staff is not pleasant but its fast food and Im sure they don't get paid well enough to be happy at work. While you wait for your order you can fill a small filthy bucket with free peanuts and make a mess with the shells. Better than average fast food burger.

Really?
For $10 bucks I got a weak burger and way too salty fries that I could have gotten for $2 at a fast food place off the dollar menu. Not to mention the 30 minute wait my friend and I had to endure for our food when it wasn't even busy at all. The inside had no atmosphere and the tables and floors needed a good scrubdown. Seriously, for $10 go to CORNER BISTRO or even a crappy diner nearby and come a little closer to getting your money's worth.

a joke
This place has the most incompetent staff i've ever encounteredeven for fast food. After waiting 30 minutes for the 1 burger i had ordered, I inquired as to when I might be receiving my order. The answer I got was "it's called understaffed." No apologies or anything. I got my money back and walked out.

really good burgers and fries
pretty damn good burgers. the Juniors size is plenty of food but if your really hungry get the big boy. the fries are awesome, but tell them to hold on the salt because they do put a lot. overall its a good place for a burger. fresh as can be and the topping selection is awesome. all that for $8.

What's with LA style?
Whatever happened to NY style - big, juicy, medium rare (if you so please). This is another transplant shop that offers tiny patties well done only, with a myriad of toppings to mask what is really only decent meat. Did I like getting free mushrooms? Yes. Does a double burger fill you up? No. Is the place mostly hype? Pretty Much.

Pretty good for this kind
Compared to other burger joints of this kind, Five Guys is pretty good, certainly better than NY Burger Company. I'd say it's even better than the overhyped In and Out. The fries are terrific (they're better than the burgers). My complaint is the layout. It's as if they don't expect anyone to eat there. I ate there and they gave me my food in a bag, to go. Also, there were no napkin dispensers I had to go back to the counter. They should sort that stuff out.

Really hits the spot and great managemen
It's exceptionally rare (unavoidable pun) to find a burger that's flavorful and juicy even when its cooked well done, as their burgers are. Somehow, they do it. The fries are crispy on the outside and very flavorful and flaky on the inside. There's a really good potato-y taste. But just as good as the food is the service. There was a pretty long delay on my order one time and the manager proactively came out to individually explain why. Was comped a free meal. Took a hassle situation and turned into a totally feel-good one.
