Lots of other fish in the sea

24.07 lunch and no wine for less than $45! The only $40. bottle was "Unavailable". When questioned about a wine list that ranged from $50 t0 $1000 the sommelier responded "Many of our customers say the wine list is underpriced". We noted that virtually no wine was being served. Food ranged from very good to pedestrian.

Great quality whimsically presented David Burke food, just like DavidBurke & Donatella! Beautiful restaurant with a nice ambiance, very Upper East Side... Reasonably priced for New York (about $60 a head). Had delicious sashimi, the hamachi/crab/tuna tartare tacos, apple zucchini latkas, swordfish. We were 5 and everyone was thrilled!

Went last night and had one of the best NYC dining experiences in a very long time! Sat right away with our 8PM reservation at a beautiful table upstairs. The restaurant has a great ambiance and soothing effect. The service from minute one until we left was perfect from the busboys, to the top, some of the best service I have seen as of late. For appetizers we had the sashimi tasting, the taco tasting, the warm octopus and the dumplings. All were so flavorful and good. Main courses were the calamari mac and cheese (WOW), the orata, branzino and the snapper. Sides were the mushrooms, cauliflower, artichokes and of course the endless bread. Each persons food was so good, I think everyone's fork was in everyone elses plate. Then.....dessert. The apple tart is out of this world....the tree of cheesecake lollipops and the banana dessert. This was one fantastic night.

    Can't wait to go back

We had dinner at Fishtail last week and we were not looking forward to it because we are not that crazy about David Burke's other restaurant. Boy were we surprised. There were 3 of us and each person ate something different. Of the 7 restaurants we visited last week this was by far the best. Our dinners were sensational. The oysters were extremely fresh the halibut was the best I've ever eaten as was the Dorade the shrimp cocktail was outstanding. We can't wait to go back for another visit.

    cant wait to go back!

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday last Saturday night and it was the perfect way to spend the evening! We live on the UES and have been to David Burke and Donatella and thought we would give this a try. The service was impeccable from the moment we walked in the door, with the atmosphere being warm and inviting, we had a great table next right next to the window. The wine sommelier was very helpful and really took the time to ensure we ordered just the right bottle. (he led us to a perfect bottle of Sancerre). We ordered the 2 lb lobster which was amazing, and the rib eye which was cooked perfectly. The Tuna Tartare Taquito for appetizers are the best! Next time I would bypass the Crispy Artichokes…but be sure to order the French Fries, I am not sure what he does to them, but they were unbelievable! And the caramelized banana tart with maple ice cream and peanut dusting was the perfect backdrop for my birthday candle. David Burke was in the restaurant the night we dined here and he was walking around from table to table saying hello and getting to know his costumers, which was VERY nice to see. We will be back for sure, it was a fantastic dining experience from start to finish.

Due to the weakened economy I doubt I would return to Fishtail because the prices were way high. I was disappointed to see that if you wanted a sauce with your fish you had a list to choose from and the charge for that is $7.50. I don't remember when I was at a restaurant where the main dish didn't have anything else on the plate. Not a potato or a green vegetable? nor a sauce! The food was delicious, but it was overshadowed by the cost. If they want to charge very high prices, they might include something with the entree. The bar tables are not comfortable and the seating upstairs is too tight. No privacy during dining. The restaurant is very pretty though.

We ate here for my birthday and were extremely disappointed with our experience! We ordered the "Cocktail Collection" and were served an undercooked lobster.... when we sent it back uneaten, our waiter apologized and said he would let the kitchen know it wasn't steamed enough... yet he still charged us for it! I would expect something to be deducted from the bill (or at least a complimentary dessert). Our fish entrees were mediocre and definitely did not meet our expectations! The tables are also way too close together- I felt like we were eating dinner WITH the couple next to us! Save your money on this one!
