    Wasn't too pleased!

We went for Valentine's dinner. I wanted sushi instead of/or with the Prefix but was firmly told the $85 Prefix was the only option even though sushi was on the menu. Our waiter was nice but there were a lot of men in suits standing about or constantly walking by asking if we were okay which is a con when trying to have a romantic dinner. Another turn off was the big liquor-store style security camera hanging above our table. I ordered the Branzino which was a dry, bland piece of fish by itself on a big plate and the spinach side arrived cold 10 minutes later! Dessert took 30 minutes to come out after dinner was done! My fiance did like her Roasted Lobster and the ambiance but I won't return or recommend. Spend your coin elsewhere.

    Not recommended

The wine came and no one showed up for 30 min. Ready to walk out when manager came to apologize. Ordered 4 shrimp and 1/2 lobster. lobster came with shell and no meat. sent that back too. manager came back with crab cakes to make up for disaster. ordered dinner had better fish at less expensive places. Forget dessert couldn't wait to leave.

Went during rest wk. Having been to David Burke's townhouse we were looking forward to Fishtails. Greeted as soon as we entered, and seated upstairs in a lovely room, red walls decorated with fish and sea decorations. Our waiter was excellent(Alex). Very attentive but not overly intrusive. All the food was excellent escept my DH said the hanger steak was a bit tought. He did love the FF. I had bronzini-delicious with a side salad and a Cal. roll as an appy. Their choc cake was dense and very rich. I had the fruit plate, and we shared since the choc cake was too much for one person. Will definately return to either rest.

    Apearance-Lovely/Food- Good/Service-Weak

Maitre'd was highly professional but waiter clearly couldn't care less about the customers at his tables. The food was elegantly presented and tasted fine but not exceptional. Prices were steep.

    Amazing Food

Fishtail was incredible. I have never been to a David Burke restaurant but will certintaly be going back. The appetizer portions were generous. We had the fish taco's and the crab cake covered pretzels. Both were fantastic. You need to try the crab cake covered pretzels. I've never tasted anything like it. Got the Paella and the Grouper special both were excellent. The special cheesecake lollypops those were the only thing we didn't care for and actually left most of it but we didn’t care at the point b/c the rest of the meal was fantastic. We don’t usually do restaurant repeats since there are so many great places in the city but we will be back to this one. The service was excellent our waiter could not have been nicer. We didn’t look at the bottle of wine prices but the wine by the glass was very pricey ($14-$20)

    Good resturant week lunch

We enjoyed a very good lunch during restaurant week. The selection consisted of about five entrees--from hamburger to Branzino--five appetizers, five desserts. We ate downstairs where there is a bar with counter and booths for two. Pretty decor. Charming hostess to everyone in a bad rainy day. The only minor complaint was the waiter- a bit surly, took our dessert order with our entree order and brought the coffee before we had finished dessert even though we specifiaclly told him to wait until after we had finised dessert, seemed to be in a hurry. A good lunch overall, we will return.

The best I've eaten in NY thus far

Maybe I got lucky...maybe I know how to browse through menus....maybe I am not overly demanding with service and I understand there will be delays when the house is packed. The most important thing for me when I go to eat fish at a restaurant is the quality of the fish. And the fish was gooooood and I thought reasonably priced. $35 for a well cooked, well sized, fresh dorade from the mediterranean is very, very reasonable in my opinion. The service had delays but the guys were very nice and their recommendations spot on. I'll go again, and again, and again to eat good fresh fish.
