    Highly recommended

I wrote this because I read some negative reviews on this place. I loved it. Service was excellent, fab wine list including by the glass, nice atmosphere and mixture of guests (business people, couples, families, get togethers). I am going to take a prty of friends there next time I am in town. only complaint is the staff sit around in the bar downstairs so when I first arrived I thought it was shut, but the upstairs is wonderful

    Very disappointing

We were seated right away for our 7PM reservation. The hostess frowned upon our choice to not check our coats, but offered to seat us in a corner table so we'd have room for our things. She put us upstairs, in the nook between the stairs and the bathroom. There were a lot of waiters idling near our area, but they must not have been able to see us. After waiting and unable to flag down any waiters, we had to approach one to request a menu. After the meal, the bill was promptly delivered without being requested. The food? Not worth the trouble.

    Who's managing this place?

The question to ask is why someone would spend so much money on decor and ignore the training of staff and a sloppy kitchen? In a restaurant less than half full, it should not be necessary to call the wait staff over and over and over. While the calamari appetizer was delicious, the gnocci with wild mushrooms had great taste, but the plate was a joke -- FOUR gnocci smothered in wild mushrooms to the point that you couldn't determine what the dish was all about with three miniscule overcooked shrimp thrown on top. Why bother? This dish could have been sensational, but instead was destroyed by a sloppy kitchen. Desserts were interesting and good. This, for us, is a one-time restaurant. There is nothing there that is interesting or intriguing enough to go back.

    Way too much attitude

My experience at Fishtails last night was terrible. We sat and we sat and we sat...the water boy eventually gave us menus. The waiter never asked us if we wanted drinks. The waiter had to come back to our table twice to clarify our order. No discussion of specials or any highlighting of particularly good things available that night. We were the forgotten table - our waiter was fawning over a lively table in the corner that was ordering many drinks and sharing dishes. We were completely offended. The air conditioning was not working either. The concept of providing each guest and each table a worthy experience has clearly NOT been communicated to the staff.

    "Eat it and Beat it"

As the dessert was served, the waitress appeared with a check. Very ungracious and inhospitable. We will not be back.

    Smallest portions done average

We ate here on a Sunday afternoon, not knowing they had a $20 price fix. The price fix menu highlight was by far the scallop appetizer, however it all went downhill from there. The main dish had very little flavor, and the dessert looked like it was tossed onto the plate out of an entemanns box. The service was average (they kept pushing for this back patio empty section), and the whole restaurant looked filled with upper east side's geriatric pescatarian population.

    Absurdly Good $20.09 Sunday Brunch

We took my Father here for Father's Day and were surprised to find a 3 course $20.09 prix fixe which was amazing. Pretzel crusted crab cake and cheesecake lolipops were big hits. My chopped salad was a little salty but everything else was great. Space is lovely with high ceilings and staff was very friendly and helpful.
