Great food and wine
I had dinner at Fish Tag the other night and food, wine and service were all excellent, as always. Contrary to previous reviews that complained about wine prices, I had a full glass of terrific Italian white wine (Muller-Turgau) for $8 -- a bargain, and a great addition to the UWS dining scene.

Best New Restaurant on the Upper West
Without question, the best new restaurant on the upper west side, and in the running, in my mind, for the best restaurant in the neighbourhood overall. The food is incredibly creative, delicious, and presented with style. The room is lovely. The service was a bit slow and spotty in my experince for the quality of food, but the food, oh the food. It was out of this world. The only downside was the wine selection, which to my taste, was overpriced and lackluster, when compared to the quality and style of the food. An amazingly good restaurant, in a city of great eateries. A must. Go!

Beware when ordering wine!
The food is interesting, the ambiance pleasant although a bit loud, but as a previous reviewer mentions: Don’t order wine; or at least beware of what they are charging! We are used to ordering a glass or a bottle of wine, the proprietors here are introducing ½ a glass of wine. Of course, since we are not used to such absurdity and the waiter/waitress certainly don’t explain it, we don’t notice this on the wine list until we get the bill. Therefore, when ordering a glass of wine for $12 you get a bill for $24, as this is considered two half glasses! We had 3 glasses of wine, the bill $47! My friend needed a spoon and so did the guests on the table behind us, yet no one was there to serve. It’s unfortunate because the restaurant’s food is good, yet, if they want to consider themselves a wine bar perhaps a trip to France or Italy would be a good investment to learn that the term does not imply such pretentiousness.

Pleasantly surprised
I ordered eggplant bruschetta and Catalan Shrimp; two appetizers for dinner. Food was beautifully seasoned and just delicious. Service was pleasant and accommodating. Overall, I was impressed.

Good food dark atmosphere
Overall food was good, service was friendly and knowledgable. The restaurant itself is small, the tables are close together and because of the proximity to others it can be loud. Despite the white walls it is poorly lit. The menu has more appetizers than main courses and has several different parts that can be confusing.

Great food; don't drink wine!
Loved the brunch Gaspe salmon plate -- perfect fish, delightful accompaniments and nice presentation. Fine service (OK --only four tables filled at 1 PM on a Saturday). But -- all positive thoughts soured when we saw a bill for $40 for two (2) 6-oz glasses of (OK but no more) San-cerre. Would like to eat their food again but dread having to stick to water.
