    Don't Skip

Okay, yes the tuna was frozen but it was cooked and seasoned well. The spinach was really great! We also had a pasta pesto dish that was out of this world delicious and a great bargain to boot. The service was admirable. The frozen lemon drink is a must! I believe that Fish and Sip is worth another visit. I would like to see a liquor license (wasnted a glass of wine with my fine dinner) and fresh, not frozen fish (especially the tuna).

Could be so great ... but ...

I have to agree with the last reviewer. This sweet little place would be such a gift to Park Slope IF the fish were fresh. But it's frozen, mushy and bland, the opposite of what one hopes for in seafood. Fewer varieties of fish would be fine - if the choices were all fresh. So disappointing, the concept of the place is great, the menu appealing, the folks who run it are all nice as can be - but the fish itself is diner quality. Fish & Skip.

    Fish not up to par

I really wanted to like this place - and STILL hope to like it. I've been there 3 or 4 times, to stay and to go, and have taken friends as well. The concept is fantastic; I can get a really simple, nice, well-put-together greek salad, with a piece of grilled salmon on top, for under $15. Great for lunch or dinner. The owner and staff are very nice, and the atmosphere is charming, relaxing, and perfectly lovely. My problem is the FISH. It's never horrible, and it's always nicely seasoned. But it ALWAYS tastes like it started out frozen. Frozen fish tastes so different from fresh, and it's a shame Fish and Sip thinks it's okay to go with the former. I just feel that if you put "FISH" in the name of your shop, you should be bringing it in fresh. This place would be one of the best on the block if they just made that one critical change.

    simple, yummy dishes

I like how simple their offerings are. Pretty straightforward--choose your fish and 2 sides. And their food is good and the place has down-to-earth, comfortable atmosphere. No frills and perfect for a weekday dinner. Their bathroom is cute btw. I think the name Fish & Sip might throw some people off, but trust me, the food is good.

Best Fish & Chips in Brooklyn

The Fried Talapia is the abosoulte best. The Mash potatoes, Spinach, Mixed vegetables and Cjun Fish are also tasty and well prepared.
