    Cheers

This place reminds me of the program Cheers. As soon as you walk in you get the sense that you belong there. I have lived in the neighborhood for 6 years and have been going here for almost as long. Every morning I get my coffee there and Suzie, who is the brightest and the best, doesn't even have to be asked to get my order. She knows what I want and how I like it. Peter is a real character. Makes you laugh with his gruff attitude and joking manner. The value is excellent and food is always fresh. Once you go you'll always come back. Cozy and homey.

    Love these people

I have been ordering from First ave for almost a year now and they are awesome every time! The make the best bacon egg n cheese- it really hits the spot! Today was my first time actually going in there and I was surprised at how cute and cozy it was inside. My order wasn't ready but that's understandable considering I place my order during a lunch rush and that they are located near a few hospitals and other businesses. I introduced myself to the girl who usually takes my phone order and it was pretty comforting that she knew who I was already by my frequent delivery order. She's so sweet! Wish I caught her name...

    Little hole in the wall!!

I lived in area for while, but alway felt like a stranger in my hood. After discovering this little place I went back for more. This place has that home away from home feeling. Love the boys on the morning breakfast club. Susie alway keeps them in line. Oh she is what make this place feels like home. You must meet her. A woman who has love for every one , and make you feel like you are the center of attention. Love her. Great prices for food in this economy. Please try this place. It's a mom and pops business.

Good Food, Good Price, Amazing Staff

Like some of the other reviewers, I usually order the same thing--ore one of basically three items. For lunch, I either get a grilled chicken wrap, or a BLT wrap. For breakfast, it's two eggs sunny-side-up with bacon. They're all delicious. Charlie, the cook, has a special talent for cooking bacon--it's always exactly as I like it, crispy, but not dry. The prices went up a couple of months ago, and the wraps particularly seem a little overpriced now, but their grilled chicken is so tasty that I still can't resist coming in several times a week. If you come in, sit at the counter, and chat with Suzie. She's the sweetest girl you'll meet, and she loves the Yankees--which always makes people grow in my esteem. And watching her bicker with Peter, the owner, can be quite amusing. I love Peter, but I must say, I usually have to side with Suzie. In short, check this place out if you live in the neighborhood. You'll feel at home after the second visit. That, in my books, gets them 5 stars for atmosphere.

Best little spot on the Upper East Side

Yes this diner is small, jammed sometimes. But the friendliness of the staff and the portion sizes are huge! Food is fresh and great! I have been eating here for 15 years and it keeps getting better... come check it out...
