    You MUST try this place!

Who would have thought a hotel restaurant could produce such a great place?! The cocktails are creative and well made and the "cocktail cuisine" as they call it is really delicious. You have to try the surf tacos they are so good and the lamb chops are strangely some of the best I've had. This place totally exceed my expectations. I work in the area and have to get back to try them for lunch. The menu looked really good and reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back!

    Best Kept Secret in NY

I worked across the street from Fireside for 3 years before I found it. The gourmet versions of some classic starters and small plates are really exceptional. I have never actually had a main course. The calamari is crisp- not greasy with a wonderful spicy dip. The lobster rolls are small, rich and delish. The mohito lamb chops are sensational. Very honerable mention to the surf tacos, chopped salad and mini burgers and fries. Must save room for the smores desert - The real thing complete with a charcoal fire at your table. A great place to bring clients- No rush and friendly but not imposing service.

    Not worth it

Went here for lunch. Had the braised beef tacos. Three tiny (I mean tiny) tacos. Excellent taste but not nearly enough of a portion for the $. I was still hungry and ordered the ham & cheese panini. I also had two club sodas. With the tax/ tip it was $50!! I guess they can get away with this because they're located inside a Manhattan hotel. Not worth it for me. I'm not a tourist.

    Long Shot

When one walks into fireside you expect to be hit with a door fee, its decor is classy and cool while refined. But when you sit down its a whole different story. The menu and the whole atmosphere finally strikes you and you realize you're in a trend trap reminiscent of American Psycho... 80's style. The menu while not hand written on slate or etched in to metal is trying just as hard to be cool while being no more original than your favorite dockside eatery. For example while I was there every third order was either Pizza or hamburgers. Not that they arent good but honestly why would I want to pay Hotel prices for that when I can get an amazing slice anywhere in NYC or a burger from anywhere. On the other hand the desserts and drink menu were right on point.

This restaurant is terrific! The food is delicious, the ambiance cozy & not noisy, and the service is attentive without being intrusive. There are many appealing menu choices. Our group ordered the beet salad, endive salad, lamb chops, lobster rolls, hamburgers (four cute little burgers on soft buns), and the chocolate bread pudding. All were outstanding. We will return soon!

    It's hot by the fire!

... but not too hot - apparently the fire boxes that are supposed to be in the dining room were temporarily extinguished due to some legal thing, at least that's what the server mentioned. Aside from that, I'd have to say that I had a great time at this place! I brought a bunch of co-workers to this place for after work drinks, because the cocktails here are phenomenal, had a couple of appetizers at the bar like the fried oysters and margherita pizza then got the whole gang hooked. We sat and ate a bunch of different dishes (mini burgers and lollipop buffalo wings)... sort of like tapas, most all of the plates are meant to be shared amongst the guests... and they were all crowd pleasers! Again, great food, great service, an awesome time! I'm looking forward to bringing more of my co-workers here for lunch sometime too!
