I have never really written a review for Menu Pages, although I use it all the time, but I just had to sing the praises of this place. It is the best Italian restaurant on the UES, by far. It is authentic and delicious- I have eaten at the Zagat "best" Italian restaurants many times, and Firenze is right up there if not ahead of them all. The specials are fantastic, the desserts are just how they should be- you can tell that they really care about not just the quantity of food for the price but the quality as well. Service was phenominal as well. The only thing that could use improvement is the table spacing, but it adds to the character & experience so I cannot complain. It's a must go!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a nice Italian dinner in the neighborhood and randomly found this place. Everything was great as soon as we walked in..they took our coats and sat us in a nice quite corner. The food and wine was delicous. The atmosphere was very romantic and the service was great!

In a neighborhood with tons of Italian fare, this ranks amongst the top. Most quality restaurants can be inflexible when it comes to seating you as a walk-in on a busy night. I've dined at several places that will tell you that they can't accomodate you even when there are empty tables visible. No matter how crowded this place is, and it does get crowded because of the size of the restaurant and its apparent popularity, they always seem to find a place for you. Great restaurant management!! The food is excellent and the service is great without giving the sensation of being "hovered over". It's not cheap but for a nice intimate dinner----or even dining with a few friends, this is quite a treat. I've been back many times and I highly recommend it.

I read the reviews from here & decided to give it a try. I was hosting a birthday dinner for a party of 9. I called same day and got a table. Even the guy on the phone sounded like a friendly lil old Italian guy. When we got there we were seated as we arived, no one had to wait for the rest of the party. Everyone was friendly & willing to accomodate. The wait staff did not hover over us but they were always around when we needed something. The food was delish and dessert was very good as well. I'd go here again if ever in that neighborhood--I strongly recommend. The tables with only two guests got the same friendly service also. Very intimate atmosphere-candlelit-no music though but we hardly missed it.

This is my favorite Italian restaraunt in Manhattan. The atmosphere is wonderful, the service is great and the food is amazing. I've had almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. This is great Italian food, coming from a true Italian!

Our experience started off very well - great atmosphere, good food (except for an overcooked steak) - and then the check came. Our waiter had mistaken us for tourists and charged us for a $60 bottle of wine when the bottle we ordered was $31. We got the feeling this was a common 'mistake.' Needless to say, we left with a very bad taste in our mouths.
