The atmosphere was fine if you like a dark, candle-lit setting. Not for everyone. The sauces tend to be heavy, probably with cream being incorporated generously. While the menu items are reasonably priced, stay away from the "daily specials" which are priced twice as high as the menu prices. Ask before you order! I consider $34. 00 for the lamb chops very pricey for this type of establishment.

Having read the reviews here made me choose to go to Firenze. But the experience did not live up to the reviews. First of all, despite the assurances of the waiter, the AC was not working and the front door was wide open. The room is dark and better suited to a cold winter night than a warm summer evening. The food all seemed to be sauced with the same sauce (or at least a close variation). we had 3 different veal dishes and all were sauced with a brown/creamy sauce that tasted the same on all three dishes. This was also similar to the bosciola sauce on the pasta. It wasn't bad but it certainly did not say much for the inventivness of the chef. The focaccia was the best and the service was fine. But we probably won't be back.

Great italian food. The hostess was very warm and attentive. Our server could have been more attentive, however he had 7 tables in his section. Strongly recommend the pasta primavera.

Left a message on a machine for a same night reservation on a Friday and received a prompt callback confirmation. Having been to Italy, we enjoy good food and wine al fresco. Nice selection of red wines by the glass. Dinner was awesome. the fresh berries with zabilogne for dessert was plenty for 2 and delicious.. The limoncello after dinner took us right back to Sorrento. Service was friendly, but not overbearing. We ordered several things we didn't know the prices of, so weren't quite sure what to expect when the bill came, but were pleasantly surprised. Wished we lived closer, it would become one of our regulars.

I tried this restaurant for the first time on a busy Sat night and we were (party of 2) seated right away. The service was great- everyone was so nice and friendly. The setting was my favorite- very cozy, old world Italian- perfect for the rainy night it was. We got drinks, bread and our food right away. My only complaint was at the end when I was still finishing my glass of wine and the manager basically asked us if we were done. They were in a hurry to seat another party. All in all, I would definitely go back. The menu choices were awesome!

My husband has dietary limitations. He ordered his entire dinner off the menu. Instead of sounding like a middle aged man with a high cholesterol problem, he sounded like a pretentious Upper East Sider. The waiter and chef were excellent. Accommodative, and pampering. My meal was delicious. As we walked out of the restaurant, my husband said that he was treated like a King. Nicest compliment he ever gave a restaurant.

A couple of friends had recommended this restaurant, and we had been meaning to try it for months. We finally had the chance and it was well worth the wait. The quaint atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff did not rush to make us order, we were able to enjoy each other's company. The specials were so appetizing, it was hard to decide. Then menu was not huge, but filled with delicious choices. Everything we ordered arrived quickly, was hot, and tasted AMAZING. We devoured everything! But, even when we were done, we sat pleasantly without being hurried to pay the check…which is so nice in busy nyc. We hope to become regulars here.
