Go for the show
The food - not so good. The caviar - fantastic. The service - impeccable. Overall, there are probably better places to do "Russian" but this is still worth the trip.

Pretty Good
Blinis were heavy and thick, like American pancakes, not like the ethereal, light Russian blinis you would get in a good restaurant in Moscow, and it was curious that there was no caviar service on the menu at all, aside from being part of the eight-course tasting menu...any great Russian restaurant, especially one with prices as high as this one, should have perfect blinis and a good selection of caviar. Atmosphere was classically pre-Soviet Romanov and tastefully done. Service was crisp and attentive.

Authentic
Authentic, exquisite, elegant, yet comfortable. The tasting menu with appropriate wines is fabulous. Wonderful salmon en croute, blinis, borscht, lamb, decor and service. Ideal for romantic pre-theater or that special occasion. Good prix fixe selections also.
