excellent
I stop here for coffee practically every morning. It is delicious and the staff is VERY friendly (and while this has no bearing on the quality of the food, very attractive too). I often get the oatmeal with lingonberry for breakfast as well, and it is quite delicious. I've only had one of their lunch items, but I was impressed by the flavour of the sandwich. This is a good place for a light lunch, so if you're hungry, I would go somewhere else. But let's be honest, Europeans know what is a proper portion size!

Great Experience in NYC
I just went to Fika and loved it. the small atmosphere and friendly service was a treat, espcially in NYC. The pasteries are supurb and the coffee simply delicious. I'd recommend it to all. Just wish the espresso bar was larger. Cheers.

Perfect Diet Food, Tough Otherwise
Fika has thoughtful, flavor-packed little sandwiches that, apparently, are quite authentic-tasting. They make delicious coffee and it's a cute little place. The sandwiches are easy on your stomach and perfect for a lite lunch (at a midtown price). If you're used to feeling full after lunch, plan on a big breakfast.

Great little spot
Stopped in on a whim and had one of the hot lunches (meatballs). The food was delicious and fresh and the person at the counter was very helpful. I will definitely be returning to try breakfast some time. As another reviewer mentioned, the hot chocolate is excellent.

Excellent Catering Option!
While I have yet to stop in at Fika, I recently ordered some cocktail bites from them for a reception at a Scandinavian art gallery and was very impressed and pleased! The three snacks we ordered--gravlax- cured salmon with honey mustard and pickled shitake mushrooms, on whole wheat crispbread; oven-roasted red beets with goat cheese, honey and roasted walnuts; venison marinated with juniper berries and gin topped with a salad of pear, raisins and blue cheese on a sevengrain bread--were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We asked for the food to be delivered at 3:30 and it arrived on the dot, delivered and set up by David Johansson himself. All around, an excellent and unique option for catering!

I agree...
..with all previous reviews. This is one of New York's best kept secrets. My personal oasis from the outside world. Luv it!!

I go all the time
This place is easily one of my faves in the city. I cant even count the times Ive been in, and every time I get the same friendly, warm vibe. Somehow they pull off having great food and coffee, being hip and trendy while still treating every single customer like a friend. Im a fan for life.
