I had just been to the original location on Lex. and 62nd, and loved it. I was in the neighborhood with friends and thought I would show them a good time. Well I couldnt have made a worse decision. This location was nothing like its sister uptown. The service was poor at best. They were unable to answer my inquiries about the menu, and seemed to be put out by our party of 8. The food was solid, but took excessive amounts of time, and came out staggered so I was served while my friends were watching without theirs. At the conclusion of our experience, I thought I would just mention to the manager that I was a little less than satisfied (based on my experience uptown). This is when things went from bad to worse. The manager brushed me off. His indifference is the business's loss, as I have a company expense account that will be used every where but there.

Great food with a good mixture of options and opportunities to try different things. The cheese platter was remarkable. The bar staff are friendly and informative, beyond rudimentary expectations. The Fennel infused gin martinis have to be tried to be believed an amazing concoction!

Went to this new spot in the MP. Hostess didnt have our reservation file. Our service was spotty at best as our waitress mumbled something about oils. Our food took over 30 minutes to come to the table and when it did it was cold. Overall I felt that this place is all beauty and no substance.

Went to this place, heard it just opened, figured we'd give it a try. The decor is fabulous, with hip, fun, young professionals meeting for drinks and dinner. However, I think because this location just opened, they need to work out a few kinks. The hostess was confused on where to sit us - a bit of a run-around with that. Also, the waitress, although kind and sweet, was not often in ear/eye-shot to check in on us. However, the appetizers were amazing - So amazing that we were tempted to just order more and not get any entrees. We should have stuck with that idea, as the entrees were pretty tasteless. All in all, I think this place just needs a few months to become what it has the potential to be.

My girlfriend and I went to fig and olive downtown this past weekend and it was fantastic. We had been to the great one uptown and we're in the neighborhood so we checked it out. It is truly a piece of art. The decor is gorgeous as well as the cuisine. Everything was fantastic as usual from the Fig and Olive group. I wish them all the success and luck. Always excellent service and a great time.
